Talk From Your Heart

In these current times, we hear rhetoric that essentially adds nothing positive to anyone's day.  Yet, it doesn't stop us from letting it flow from our mouth.  It is rather sad that we are at a point in our culture, both in the media and in normal every day conversation that we feel we need to push our beliefs, rather than talk from the heart.  I know, many people would claim they don't do this, but then if they really opened their eyes and hearts, they would see that they do.

I always enjoy reading blog posts where the author writes about their own experiences and what brought them to the point of writing a particular blog post.  I feel like I can connect with what they say, in a way that they say it, just because they are speaking from their heart.  One such blog touched me deeply because this friend of mine shared something so private and intimate that I could connect with through his own words.  His blog post was titled, "Lost My Words".   He was talking from his heart and when he did that, it made the connection easy and instantaneous.

Topic:  Don't Ignore The Warning Signs Of Child Abuse
URL:   whatislove-2010.blogspot.com
Date Posted:  2/27/12

All of us need to be vigilant and aware of child abuse.  It happens every day in places all around us. No community is exempt and those who you think would never do such a thing, are the most common perpetrators of child abuse.

We as a society love to hide our head in the sand and just act as if child abuse does not happen right before our eyes.  We explain it away with excuses and outright actions of claiming it does not exist.  We think we can talk and rationalize what is going on, and that the behaviors and excuses or reasons given, are enough to warrant us doing nothing more.

This was an excellent blog post article on the topic of child abuse.  It talks about the signs as well as information on what to do should you see or suspect something going on.  Everyone out there needs to read this blog post a few times.   Whatever you do, just don't sit there and allow it to happen.  A child being abused has no one to turn to and if we as adults don't stand up for these children, who will?

Daily Angel Meditations October 29

Another website that I have created and write for daily is filled with positive and uplifting messages of growth and awareness.  It is called Daily Angel Meditation and is created from my morning meditations with the angels.  As I take time out in the beginning of my day, I record whatever comes to me.  I start out with a blank piece of paper and no preconceived ideas of what to write.  I then allow the words to fill the page, connecting with what my angels have to say.

Here are selected blog posts beginning the week of October 14, 2012.  I have tried to summarize them briefly and give the actual link to them.  To visit the website, just go to DailyAngelMeditation.com .

Topic:  Accept My Current Moments Of Life
I know there is a way forward in life and I feel the bigger purpose.  Yet, I am not sure of how to get there or the concrete path ahead.  The angels remind me once again to accept the current moments of life, so they will give way to the moments I long for each day.

Unlimited Abundance Is Our Authentic Self

Unlimited Abundance is not about discovering an ATM that requires no PIN number or debit card.  Unlimited Abundance is about identifying blocks in your life, letting go of fears and aligning with who you truly are.  For when we do this and we find our authentic self, it is then that we will realize everything is provided to us that we need.  - Don Shetterly

Being One With The Pain

The Choice To Go Into Pain

In a recent situation, my friend was experiencing headaches that were very severe.  They were in the migraine stage.  I have been through these in the past and I know first hand just how rough they can be.  After a few days of the headaches not going away, we made a trip to see Dr. Canali in Miami, Florida.  Granted, we had not been there in several months so both his nervous system and mine were way out of balance.

It would have been easy to go into the fear of the situation and chase every remedy known to man.  Some probably felt that we needed to do this, but because of our experience with the concepts of what Dr. Canali teaches, we knew there was another route.  This method of treatment is effective because it honors and respects what is going on within the body.  It recognizes that if the nervous system is out of balance, things like headaches and other pain will appear.

In addition, I had done some body work on my friend and while it didn't completely alleviate the headaches or pain, it took him from a 10 (on a scale of 1 to 10) down to probably a 5 or less.  He was able to sleep through the night, rather than scream out in pain.  In my mind, I knew that this was nervous system related and not some other thing.  I listened to my intuition.  We were also in touch with Dr. Canali as to the course of treatment.

Gliding Massage Touch

Time and time again, I have seen massage therapists that don't connect with their own touch.  They don't seem to be aware of just what their touch does to a body.  Way back in massage school, I remember trying to help educate an upperclassman to what their touch felt like when they began a massage on me.

You see, the way in which you touch someone makes all the difference.  In the specific circumstance that I am referring to, it is that first touch or that gliding stroke down a back or other body part.  Let me see if I can describe this further.

For instance, you have the person lying face down on a massage table with their back exposed.  You have the oil on your hands and you are ready to touch them by doing a gliding stroke down their back.  It sounds wonderful doesn't it?  It sounds like just the thing anyone would like.  Unfortunately, all too often instead of gliding down on their body as a plane would make a smooth landing at an airport, it is like they drop a bomb on the persons back with their touch.  Then, they start the gliding process.

Acceptance In Life

One blog I have been following lately has some very good insights.  The name of this blog is Soul Seeds and the writer of it is very talented in sharing insights to life.  The blog entry that I am sharing a link to here is on Acceptance And Change.

In life we encounter many moments where we grow as individuals.  Of course, these are often in the form of difficult times in life also known as change.  However, when we become aware of the change that we need, then we are able to accept it and move forward.  Not being aware of what it is that brings us difficulty in life holds us back from acceptance and change.

I really liked the way he talked about how we view acceptance as the opposite of change, when in reality it is not.  Resistance is the opposite of change.  It is when we go into accepting what is before us, that we empower our life and find our solution.  When we resist what it is before us, it is then that we are drained of the energy we need to live life to the fullest.

Listen To The Body

In the human species, we have lost our way.  We absolutely have no idea how to listen to the body.  There are books written on the subject and plenty of people rave about the mind body connection, but very few truly understand what listening to the body is all about.

In a recent experience, I saw someone go through a very painful moment of difficulty with their health.  Fortunately we have been acquainted to the work of Unified Therapy with Dr. Paul Canali.  Keep in mind that this work is just not a bunch of feel good concepts or treatments.  It is not something that uses new age mumble jumble to make it appear like it is useful.  It is a practice that has unfolded over time and is based upon science, experience, and is highly reproducible.  You can't say that for many of the things out there, although many attempt to make these claims.

As I saw responses far and wide from many different people who undoubtedly cared about what this person was going through, I noticed one thing.  No one was really focusing on the one thing that could help this person and that was they needed to listen to the body.  All the girations of diagnosing medical conditions based upon beliefs really does nothing to help a person.  In fact, very people really knew what was going on, but it didn't stop them from playing armchair physician.  I can't help but think that if everyone was as intelligent as they thought they were, this world would have very few problems.  My statement may sound harsh, but in many ways it is honest and true.  Again, I know people mean well, but what I read on the internet as responses, made my eyes bulge out, especially knowing what I have learned and come to know in life.

Embrace Fear

So often, we run from fear and in so doing this, we drain our power.  It is when we embrace our fears, that we take the power back from them.  We do not get lost in the fear, but we use the fear to become more aware and conscious of who we are. - Don Shetterly

The Body Knows

When you are in that space where you operate from pure love and acceptance, the body of another person already knows this without a word needing to be spoken.  When you have traveled through the fire of your own life and reached your core being, it is then that you can operate from the space of pure love and acceptance. - Don Shetterly

Its Hard Not To Worry

I know this is an issue I've been working on all my life.  For me, it is much easier to worry than it is to breathe!  I'm being honest here.  I can worry with the best of them and probably would win a medal if there was a competition.  Of course, I don't say this to make light of the issue, but I'm trying to make a point that I know its hard not to worry.

In the past couple of years, finances have been a struggle.  I've had some great challenges and how I have overcome them, I am not sure I could articulate it accurately.  Worry has been at the height of my existence though which leads to anxiety and fear along with doom and gloom.  It is hard not to worry.  Maybe for others, this isn't a big deal, but it is for me.

Even through the past month or two, I've seen opportunities arise that came out of the blue.  I didn't expect them, but they showed up.  Time and time again it showed me that I was not alone out there and the less I worried, the more things happened.  Of course, it meant that as I gave up the old patterns of worry in my life, my ego said, "whoa baby - just exactly what do you think you are doing here?"  I mean after all, my mind is so used to the neural pathways that fire together and focus on lack, rather than unlimited abundance.  It is like a beloved and hated twin part of myself.  It is like the more I move forward, the more I give up a part of my life that feels like without it, I cannot function.

My Concerns In Life

This post is a very personal one for me because it comes from my own journal.  However, I wanted to take the time and record these thoughts so that there would be a record of these things.  In addition, by my own acknowledgement and recording of these things, it is like I bring them out of the shadows of my life.  The more I give them light, the less frightening and uncertain my life is in this moment.

While my list may or may not mean much to anyone else reading this post, each one has a very specific purpose and reason in my mind.  The information and background behind these points is very detailed and complete.  However, I choose to not share all of those details about my private life in a very public place.

I would urge you to do the same exercise if you are fighting and struggling with concerns in life.  If you are unsure of where to go or how to get there, take a moment and stop to see what lies in front of you.  While this exercise may not automatically give you all the answers to life you need, you at least are acknowledging them in a very real manner.

Take A Massage Time Out

So many of us go through our day, packing in one event after another.  We spend very little time giving our body as well as our mind the time and respect it deserves.  We push ourselves beyond our limits.  Somehow, we view our life as that of being strong by pushing ourselves harder and harder.  In all reality, we need to just take a massage time out.

Yes, we all know that massages generally feel good and they help us relax.  Some of us in this world even spend regular time getting body work.  However, many people feel that massages are something you only do once or twice in your life time.  Some people feel that it is just something special you treat yourself with on a vacation.  Unfortunately to take a massage time out in life is much more than something you do once in a blue moon.  It has great health benefits.

If you have read articles in the newspapers or magazines, you most likely know many of the health benefits.  However, there is a disconnect when it comes to what people read and hear, and what sinks into the mind.  Massages not only help you feel good and relaxed, but they help improve the circulation of the body and move toxins out.  They help get rid of stress and tension, and help you connect more deeply with your body.  The more you connect with your body, the more aware you become and it helps you see life differently.

Abundance In Unexpected Ways

While I fully feel that unlimited abundance is not just about money, sometimes they go hand-in-hand.  The other day I found abundance in an unexpected way.  It took me totally by surprise and in that moment I could not see it.  Once I got beyond it by a few moments, I began to see it differently.

A client I was working for on contract had an unexpected job come up for me.  While the travel distance seemed to be greater than I wanted, the company really needed someone there at that moment.  They had had other people not show up and so they really needed to save face in this situation.  I finally agreed to go and after an earlier job in the week, I was already stressed.

Arriving at the site, I could not reach any support staff and so I was on my own with inadequate documentation to do the task.  I did what I felt was appropriate, but later found out that I had done the wrong thing and had to start all over again.  I was furious and ready to walk out the door because the support staff that was unavailable earlier, was now talking to me with an attitude.  To make a long story short, I ended up coming back the next day which combined with another unexpected moment to bring in some significant income that day.

Worry And Stress In Our Life

In times of worry and stress in our life we need to stop and take notice of all that is happening.  When we let go of these moments in our life, we find that it is a moment of gratitude, not a moment of despair.  Often we are so busy forcing our life into one mold, rather than living the life that we hold in that moment.  Let us look at this current moment and honor it with our attention, respect, and awareness. - Don Shetterly

Here To Work On Our Issues

These days, it is quite obvious that most humans don't get some basics in life.  They think they are here to convince everyone to follow their set of beliefs and opinions which often is held as truth.  Unfortunately, most don't understand that we are here to work on our issues.  We all have issues, no matter how perfect we think we are and that's why we came to this earth.

Too many of us have issues of being ignorant, proud, righteous, lacking self confidence, egotistical, anger, being full of ourselves, among others.  We go through our day wearing these things as our badge of identity.  It is like these things make up who we are.  In fact, many times we came into this world carrying all of this with us and so we don't even know what a life without these issues is all about.

On top of that, if we can identify the issues we struggle with, many people feel that to let go of these things or to begin to learn to let go, we would be cutting off a vital part of our self.  We may not say this and we might not be conscious of it, but if we could truly be honest with our life, we would see just how true it is.  Often it is hard to see ourselves accurately, because our mind filters everything through our own lenses of beliefs and opinions.  Many times, these things are just not true, but the filter keeps us from seeing the truth for our own life.

Healthy Oatmeal Breakfast

I saw something similar on a google search the other to what I am about to share.  However, I can't find the link and I wish I could.  So, the thank you goes out to whoever it was.  You inspired me!  However, I'm making this different than what was shown anyway, so in many ways I was inspired their creation to create my own healthy oatmeal breakfast.

The way I create this oatmeal is to my taste.  You don't have to follow what I do.  You are free to create whatever it is that works for you, using ingredients that you enjoy and love.  I'm just giving the basic oatmeal breakfast that I find healthy and satisfying.

The other great thing about this recipe is that it doesn't take that long to make, doing it the way I do.  If you are in a hurry, than this should not take more than about 10 minutes to prepare and make this.  It might take a few minutes longer than that, but not much.  Here are the instructions and ingredients.

Saying Thank You

By a show of hands, who has forgotten to do this in a day?  I mean, really saying thank you to someone for something they did for you.  I'm sure we all have forgotten this. Yet this simple little act of stating these two words can really impact someone's day.  It is all too easy to forget to do, but imagine lifting someone's life up in a moment by saying thank you.

I know, we get busy and we don't stop and think to do something such as this.  I get in that same boat as well.  Yet, I'm sure that if you are like I am and most other people, you like to hear these words from time to time.  They make you feel appreciated and wanted and cherished.  The same applies to those around us that impact our day.  They are just like we are when it comes to needing to hear how their life positively impacted our life.

It is really simple to do and of course we know that.  However, we just fail to stop and connect in those moments where we need to be saying thank you.  We might have to remind ourselves at times of how it impacts our life and then apply that to others around us.

Connect With Joy And Gratitude

I find it is so easy to want a more fulfilling life, than despair about all the problems I face.  It is like I want to connect with joy and gratitude in life, but I forget how to do this.  Maybe I sabotage myself into the thought patterns of the past, believing I cannot do this, but who am I fooling?

Once again I remind myself that I can strengthen my life just by connecting with joy and gratitude in my heart.  As I remind myself of all that there is, I only need to stop and feel how these things replicate in my heart.  It is through the connection that we experience them in some very powerful ways.

All I need to do, is just stop and feel my heart.  As I take my hand and place it over my heart, I begin to think about things in my life that make me feel full of gratitude and joy.  When I do this, I begin to feel a warmth inside my heart.  I feel the smile that connects to it, and the sense of peace that covers me in this moment.

It is easy to forget to connect with joy and gratitude.  The busy seconds of our day or the difficult moments we experience, can often knock us off from realizing we have forgotten this.  It is in those moments that we really need to sync up with the gratitude and joy in our heart.  As we do this, we will find a power and a strength much greater than ourselves, that will push us forward.

Topic:  Focus On What Really Matters
Many things come along in our day and try to seduce us into their world.  Sometimes they appear as magical moments, but in all reality they are illusions of truth.  The more we focus on what really matters, the more joy we will find for our own life.

Relax To Piano Music

I just wanted to highlight some relaxing piano music.  Something that helps you just let the stress melt away and zone out from every day life.  Some people have shared with me that they just love to sit in a nice warm bubble bath while listening to this music.  They have told me that it just helps them relax after a stressful day.  Others have shared with me that they listen to this music at work to help ease the tension and stress throughout their day.

For me, I use it in massage and for times when I just need to chill out.  It really is perfect for any time that you want some relaxing piano music playing in the background.  As one person recently stated, "It sounds like elevator or doctor office music".  I'm sure they meant that in a positive way, but the point is, this music is relaxing.

Unlike other CD's out there you can buy, Relaxing Spa Music is all piano music and it is played and created from the emotions of my heart.  There is no singing in it as it is entirely 100% instrumental.  So, go and check it out on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody or any of your favorite places where you listen to music.

By the way, if you don't find it on the service you use for music, let me know and I'll see what I can do to get it distributed through that site.

Love Is Your Way Of Life

The world is very beautiful and very wonderful. Life can be very easy when love is your way of life. You can be loving all the time. This is your choice. You may not have a reason to love, but you can love because to love makes you so happy. Love in action only produces happiness. Love will give you inner peace. It will change your perception of everything. (Pg 127-128, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz)

Dare To Think Good Of Yourself

I couldn’t help but think of Joe Dispenza’s book today (Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself).  Last week was monumental for me giving the talk on relaxation.  I was so happy and excited that I did it and it came out well.  It took a great deal for me to push through my fears and follow through, not giving up like I normally would.

However, not long after that, I started to sabotage myself with the old routine of thoughts like "how dare you think good of yourself".  I started to tear myself apart, and my ego started saying – you’re no good – that was nothing, etc, and so forth.  It was like my ego was trying so hard to destroy this new path I’m on.  As a result, I was getting upset at every little thing and today my body was in so much pain.

Finally, I got on the massage table and had a friend do some laying on of hands while I did things I know to do.  Just connecting with the painful areas and breathing into them while having the touch ground me, my physical body changed and with it, so did my mind.  I came off of the table work feeling more grounded, calmer and more at peace.  When we change the mind, we change the body and when we change the body, we change the mind.

Abuse At Barbers Hill Middle School

Sometimes people never cease to amaze me.  I just finished watching a video on CNN about Christina Douty talk about the beating that her kid went through by officials at Barbers Hill Middle School in Texas.  According to the story, she signed whatever form was necessary for her son to be paddled if he misbehaved.  However, it sounds like the school officials went too far.

First off, I'm not sure why any parent would give school officials or any other adults permission to beat their children, (excuse me, I mean paddle their children).  This is beyond my imagination on every level of conscious thought.  Are parents not capable of disciplining their own children?  Do they export that out to others just like we export jobs overseas?  Is this the way we respect our children?  I'm sure you get the point I am trying to make.

Second, in the video you see people interviewed that since they were beat as a child (again, I mean paddled), than it is perfectly okay to do it to our children today.  Some people claim of course that if we don't beat our children, the world will go to hell in a hand basket.   Some think that since she signed up for discipline in the school, she should have expected this.

Don't Need Religion

These days, it seems like everyone has a little bit of it and too many have too much of it!  Wondering what I am talking about?  I'll tell you - it's religion!  Religion permeates every part of our society, our cultures, and our existence.  No matter what we want to believe or not believe, it impacts our life each and every day.  You can avoid it all you want, but it is still there doing its thing.

For those who know me, they know that religion is generally a 4 letter word in my mind.  After all, I had horrendous experiences with it from an early age until I got out of the church.  The first molester got me when I was just a few years old while going to the bathroom in a church.  I still remember hearing the congregation singing their hymns above us, as the molester was having fun with me in the downstairs basement bathroom.

Of course, it continued on to the caretakers of my life that told me how much God loved me and the way in which they were required to demonstrate that to me.  After all, how could anyone not want to be loved by God and in such a special way (insert sarcasm voice here).  The thing was, everyone turned their head to the emotional, physical and sexual abuse I was going through.  If they couldn't see what was happening, I'm sure it was just like the rest of our society who closes their eyes to the evil before them.

Change In LIfe Increases Friction

Healing With The Angels
by Doreen Virtue
App On iTunes
There are days like the current moment I am writing this blog post, that stress just builds up.  I do a tremendous amount to let it go in my life, but at times it just gets the best of me.  I've actually been doing much better since my last healing session.  In the past few days, however, I feel like a tea kettle ready to whistle.

Little things just push me over the limit and I see myself reacting to them, even though I don't want to do this.  I get frustrated at the thought of reacting when I wish I could turn off that valve.  It isn't easy to navigate these areas of my life.  Most people who aren't close to me, never get to see this side of me.  It is one that I hide from the world.

Yet, I know I am making progress and I do understand that my life is under a great deal of stress right now.  I also know that things are changing and with change, sometimes it can create intense friction on re-entry into life.  I feel like some events have built up and now I'm facing a time where I need to release stress in a big way.  I wish I had the resources to go and get some bodywork done, but right now that is not an option.
