How We Treat Other People

When did we get to the point that we became snobs with one another.  You know, the point where we damn everyone else with their point of view and push our view only.  You know, the point where if you don't believe the way we do, then you are wrong?

Exactly how does that make us human?  How does that promote a higher level of consciousness if we're against everyone and everything they believe.  It's really sad in many ways for our society to practice this with gusto.

I grew up in a home and a church where you believed everything and anything that was told to you regardless if it was right or wrong or it fit or it made sense.  It didn't matter what you thought.  The only thing that mattered is what those in authority said was true.

These days we force everyone to follow our political beliefs and our religious beliefs.  If you don't, you are considered to be less than or wrong or some label placed upon you.  It doesn't matter if you are conservative or liberal.  It doesn't matter if you are religious or not.  It doesn't matter if you are of the new age philosophy or not.

We just force everyone into our little mold of the way things should be.  We disown those who don't see things the same way.  We shut our ears to those that would dare say something different.  We have no interest in hearing anything outside of our thoughts.

More importantly we do this with such fervor that we crowd out the things that really matter in life.  We push away the energy of the heart and replace love with our own ego.  We could care less how much we hurt and harm others, if our own thoughts are promoted.  We don't care how much we do this at the expense of others.

There are so many issues I could write about and choose to not be part of the screaming and yelling.  It isn't worth it as the field of people doing this is far too crowded.

It plays out in social media because it is easier to sit behind the computer screen and share and like and push our narrow minded view points, rather than maybe seeing others we disagree with, through the arms of love.

It plays out in the activism and new age movements because we beat others with a stick, rather than trying to help lead them into something of a higher consciousness.  We just figure that if we're not putting down those that don't share our views, we are not doing their job.  I'm not saying that the things we care about do not matter.  It is just the way in which we go about doing them.

We really need to wake up and truly realize that which matters in our day.  If you had 1 day left to live, would most of what you do in a day be seen or heard by anyone?  Would your beliefs, opinions, politics and causes be the last thing you would focus upon in the last hour of your last day?

I'm not saying that everyone has to give up their beliefs, opinions, politics and causes.  What I'm trying to point out so that it is crystal clear, is the way in which we do that.

Treating other people as if they are the problem, will not get anyone to listen to what you say.  Treating other people as if they don't know anything, will not get them to find a way to accept what you are saying.  Treating other people with labels, only puts them in a box where they cannot hear or understand you.

It is time for us to come together as humans, not just as adversaries.  It is time for us to come together as people, not as those we despise and hate.  It is time for us to get off our own ego bandwagon and connect with others through our heart, our mind, and our body.  Surely the future of this planet demands this.  Surely the future of this planet needs this if we are too succeed for another millennium.
