If we learn to listen to our body and observe all that is going on, we will find the healing and the answers we need. When we learn to listen, it is then that we find the greatest mind body healer there will ever be. - Don Shetterly

The Truth About Health Care
If you have been following the news lately, you will know that a major ruling just came down today from the Supreme Court. This ruling was on health care or what some call, ObamaCare. Depending upon which side of the political isle you fall on, you most likely support or object to this ruling. I'm not here to discuss the politics of the health care or the Affordable Care Act.
What I am here to discuss is that everyone views health insurance and health care as one in the same. We all think that everyone is entitled to health care provided by medical providers and that insurance is how it is funded. In some ways, I probably would not disagree with this. In fact, it is a basic statement of how things operate currently in our country. However, if you look around and see the bigger picture, you realize that we as a country see health care in a way that is misguided at best.
Health care is not about going to the doctor in my opinion. It is about each person learning how to take care of themselves properly and making good choices for their body. Now, before you claim that you do this, I would caution you to step outside of your own beliefs and paradigms, then attempt to make this claim. You see, health care is not something that one political group or another influences, it is about what we do individually to take care of ourselves.

My Body Affected By Weather
This has been one of those lazy meandering weeks with the tropical storm sitting offshore for what seems like forever. Even though we didn't get a full storm with all the rain and wind we could have, the weather has just been plain lousy. For some people, it wasn't as nice, with them enduring record flooding.
Unfortunately, you don't know from moment to moment when a downpour is going to hit or when the winds are going to kick up. The clouds have been grey and overcast for days now with a momentary breakthrough of the sun.
I know my body is always affected by the weather. If I don't have enough sun in my day, I get feeling very lethargic. It is one of the reasons I live in the sunshine state! Growing up in the midwest, we had our sunny days but during the winter we had plenty of cloudy days. I tried to move back to the midwest, but the cloudy winter days was just too much for me.
Last night as Tropical Storm Debby passed over us, I woke up not feeling well at all. In fact, yesterday as it got closer, I felt like someone had immersed me in an inflatable suit and applied the pressure to my entire body. It was uncomfortable to say the least and I wanted it to get over.

Child Forced To Bathe Is Abuse
I read an article today that made my hair stand on end and my skin crawl. Some days I wonder if adults really understand what it is to be human or are they just aliens in a human body. This story was about a third grader at a Texas school that was forced to bathe. Evidently according to teachers and school officials, the kid smelled and they took it upon themselves to violently scrub him down. I'm sure Sandusky would have been jealous.
Of course I don't know all the facts in the situation nor do I accept the media's story as the gospel truth. After all, the media does tend to distort the facts in a frequent manner. Regardless, if this story is true, it leaves me speechless. How on earth anyone who calls themselves an educator could do what they did to this child, is beyond me. Plain and simple, it was child abuse. They should all be locked up. When did we become a society that so disrespected our children and treated them as something we could do anything we want to with the kids?
This story of course strikes a chord with me because I was only allowed to take one shower a week as a kid. This shower of course was done on Saturday night so we would be presentable for church on Sunday. After all, you didn't want the people at church thinking we were bad people. We had to keep up the image of everything being fine in our family.

Sandusky The Alleged Child Abuser
CNN Sandusky Story |
Note - he was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts.
With all of this said, I'm hoping the jury finds him guilty. If I were on the jury, I would probably vote that way but then again, they would most likely not pick me for the jury. After all, I went through child abuse and I have a good idea of what is truth and what is a bunch of words put together to make it appear that someone didn't do anything bad.
I think back to the days of trying to confront my abusers and how they either threatened me, made me out to be some brainwashed lunatic or told me to grow up. I so wish I could fully document everything that happened to me, but of course in a trial such as the one with Sandusky taking place, proof doesn't seem to matter much - at least not to the defense. Sure they can pick holes in anyone's testimony, but it doesn't mean the child abuse didn't happen.

Did Sandusky's Wife Know?
How much do members of an immediate family know about child abuse taking place under the same roof? This is a very good question. Now that Sandusky has been found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child abuse and molestation, people are beginning to wonder how much his wife, Dottie Sandusky knew. Some people feel she should have known what was going on and is trying to hide what happened, but I'm not sure I would agree with that analysis.
Please don't get me wrong as I'm not endorsing or supporting Dottie Sandusky in any way. I'm sure there had to be signs that something was up, but of course all of us only see what we want to see. If we don't want to see something, we put blinders on and act as if never happened. Does that excuse this behavior? Absolutely NOT in my mind. Does everyone put blinders on? Absolutely, yes they do!
In my own house growing up, I still question to this day what my mom knew about what was going on in the bedrooms or the barn or the vehicles or the semi-truck. I remember at one point she was trying to hug me and I was so startled that I immediately pulled back. It surprised her and myself. Of course, no one thought any further about it. I remember one time when one of my abusers was having a session with me and as we heard my mom come up the stairs, he demanded that we get dressed quickly. When she walked in the room, I was zipping up my pants and buckling my belt. It would have been hard for her NOT to see what was going on, but in my house you just went on as if all this was normal. There were other things that would indicate something was going on, but it would take much more time than I have here to write it on this blog.

Stop, Sense and Feel
One of the most healthiest things we can do for our mind and body is very simple. It doesn't take more than a minute to do and you can do it at any time, any place or in a crowd of people. Here's the phrase to help you. Stop, Sense and Feel. Yes, that's it!
If you take a moment in your busy day and just stop, allowing yourself to sense and feel, you will be amazed at just how much more healthy your mind and body can become. It really isn't that hard. It seems simple, but yet it is profound.
Of course, don't take my word for it. Try it in your day and see what happens!

However, as is shared in this book, they are an addiction. Until we deal with the chemicals that make up that addiction, we'll never get past it.
The body is so habituated to memorizing the chemical records of our past experiences that it grows attached to these emotions. In a very real sense, we become addicted to those familiar feelings. - Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself

Sandusky and Male Child Abuse Survivors
If you have watched the news, you've probably seen the story about the Penn State Football coach and the child abuse victims. Of course, in the Sandusky trial, you see people suggesting he is too righteous of a person to ever do anything like this. His wife testifies that she never observed anything going on and his friends act as if he is greater then any saint.
Would I expect much less where someone is on trial for child abuse? Nope - no way, no how and not in my wildest imagination. I know of NO and I mean absolutely NO child molesters that readily admit they molest children. I know of NO friends, family and supporters that would come out and suggest they know anyone is a child molester. It just doesn't happen in our society and in human civilization. If you know of any, please share the news story with me.
However, when I saw that the prosecution was ready to call Sandusky's own adopted son, I felt this pit in my stomach. You see, for male survivors of child abuse, it isn't easy to come forward. It is not easy for guys (especially younger kids) to even comprehend what is going on, much less how to articulate it. When young boys are raped and molested, they generally don't have the language or understanding to communicate what is going on. Part of them may understand it is wrong (if they are even able to do that), but most likely the fear of repercussions will keep them silent. If they do understand what is going on, there is usually no way on this green earth that they will come forward unless they have a supportive environment to do so.

Connecting With Angels And Things Unseen
One of the things I have come to realize is that somehow I just pick stuff up in life. I either just seem to know it, sense it, feel it, or somehow just know it is what it is. At one time some friends of mine called me the "space cowboy" and at the time, I was confused as to why they did this. They would often tell me that you just know things. I would respond with a deer-in-the-headlights look.
If you come up to me and want answers from me about some futuristic event, I will probably stare at you with absolutely nothing to say. However, if there is something going on that I connect to, it seems like information readily shows up for me. I cannot wish for it to happen or show up. It just does or sometimes it doesn't.
There are many people who would try to paint me into a box and put all kinds of dimensions, colors and shapes to the box. However, I don't really feel like I fit in a box and I'm not sure I want to be placed into a box that fits everyone's perception of what goes on in life. So while I understand the need for people to fit things they do not understand into a defined space, it won't get you very far with me. I tend to be the one outside the box.

Do Plants See, Feel, Smell And Think
Everyone thinks of animals and humans as being the highest of life forms. We often see them as the only entities in our world that can see, feel, smell and think. However, according to researcher and author, Daniel Chamovitz, plants are much more than we currently realize.
Daniel is the author of the book, What A Plant Knows.
Through his initial work he discovered that an unique group of genes in plants also could be found in the animal world. This group of genes had much to do with how plants grow and determine lightness or darkness. The same set of genes is also a part of human DNA.
Daniel Chamovitz goes on to share how plants have a sense of smell, but not necessarily in the same function as humans or animals do. It is more like a receptivity to chemicals or pheromone, rather than as something we react to as humans.

The Subconscious Mind With Bruce Lipton
This is a wonderful interview of Bruce Lipton on YouTube that was forwarded to me. In this video, it appears that Bruce is being interviewed for a Tapping World Summit. Regardless of what this was recorded for, it has some very good information on the mind, including our conscious and subconscious mind.
I did not realize that Bruce Lipton was one of the original researchers on stem cell research back in the 60's. While I have not read his books or researched his life further, many people that I know have continually quoted and acknowledged his works. His book, Biology Of Belief is on my list of books to read.

Christie Marie Sheldon Free Energy Clearing
Just alerting you to the event coming up on Thursday hosted by Finerminds. The event takes place on June 21 (Thursday) at 6pm PST. Many of you have read some of my blog posts on Christie Marie Sheldon and Unlimited Abundance. This energy clearing session will help uncreate, delete and destory your unlimited abundance blocks.
As you have been able to read on some of my past blog posts, you can see my struggles with this program and how I came to finally purchase it. I still use it and am still learning a great deal from this course. As I begin to see things happening in my life, I am also faced with moments of overwhelm that I'm learning to let go. It is a process and the deeper I go into this program, the more I find that I need to release and let go.
There were many big blocks to abundance in my life, so it is getting me there, but not as fast as it does for others. Just the other day I had something happen that I thought was impossible in my financial situation. I'd rather not state it publicly because it is personal information.

Only One Color
Imagine the world being painted in one color with absolutely no variation of lightness or darkness. A world where we only see one exact color and everyone in the world sees that with no exceptions.
Imagine how boring, dull, and mind numbing that would be. Imagine how difficult it would be to be creative, share in the differences among ourselves that make us unique, or evolve into something greater.
Unfortunately, when we attempt to impose our beliefs upon others, we have limited our world and theirs to having only one color where we view our existence and that of everyone else. - Don Shetterly

Directions To Reality
Somedays if we are not careful, we find ourselves traveling further and further from reality, into a fantasy world we create. There is nothing wrong with fantasy if we balance it out with reality.
All too often these days, it seems like the human population is living in a fantasy world. Would someone be so kind as to give me directions and direct me to reality? - Don Shetterly

Beating Kids Is Child Abuse
Recently there was an article in the news about a minister that beat his daughter forcing her to call 9-1-1 and have him arrested. When you read the developing story the original account seems to conflict with the current account of what happened. The father (minister) claims he would never beat his kids and I'm sure he doesn't see himself as a child abuser.
This brings back memories for me because child abusers who beat their kids often don't admit to doing anything wrong. The same goes for wife or spouse beaters. Okay, in the moment they may come back and claim they are sorry for beating their kids, but in all reality the apology is just another form of control. It really isn't an apology. All it is designed to do is to get the victim to buy into their way of thinking which involves control, brain washing, and a sick way of treating another human being.
For this father to get up in his church and claim he never abused the kid, I'm sure that is what he thinks is the truth in his own delusional mind. Of course he attacks the police and authorities and attempts to get the remaining family members to agree with his side of the story. My opinion is that they most likely fear for their own lives. While there could be another side to the story from the 9-1-1 call, I've seen this scenario play out many times in my own life. It is very hard for me to believe what this minister (a.k.a father) says because I've heard the sad luck stories way too many times. Of course, it makes it worse when you see how he joked about it from the pulpit this past Sunday in his church. Of all things to joke about, this would not be one of them. However, it is again a form of control. People in his church will see him as the victim and the kid as possessed by the devil.

Do It In The Name Of Heaven
Like all species alive today, if we don't work together towards a common goal, we won't survive. If all a species do is focus on the annihilation, they won't survive for generations to come. Of course, other acts of nature come along and have obliterated some species.
Lately all I see in the news is the people that purport to follow the life and teachings of Jesus, but do anything that follows what Jesus preached. Remember when Jesus said in Matthew (chapter 22) when he was asked about the greatest commandment?
Yet, all too many of his followers feel that preaching hatred towards other people of the same species is what Jesus portrayed in his life. They fail to understand that they are living against his teachings and what his life meant. Yes, they attempt to qualify it with hating the sin, loving the sinner. Of course, most people with a brain can see just how judgmental and condescending that statement is. It doesn't stop these fanatics of course.

Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22

Take The First Step
I found the following picture posted to Dr. Wayne Dyer's Facebook page and just had to share this. The picture depicts this concept so well. If you look closely, you will notice the words "You don't have to see the whole staircase - just take the first step". How more perfectly could this thought be stated.
Taking the first step is the key to finding your way through anything in life. When life gets difficult and it is hard to know where to turn, you just have to take a step. Sometimes that first step is the hardest because we are not sure if it is the correct one, or what will be the outcome, but if we just take the step we will find out. It will give us the opportunity to find out if it is the step we need to take or it will teach us something more than we currently know.
Don't worry about identifying everything about the step so that you will be certain if it is the right one or not. Trust your heart, your intuition and your body to help guide you. Once you feel it in you, then take the step. Don't delay! Don't wait for another moment to come along urging you to take the step. Just take the first step.

Your Presence Makes A Difference
Have you ever had one of those moments where you felt like you could not be there for someone in the way they needed. You know the point at which you don't think you have anything to give, or maybe enough to give to them to help make a difference. Maybe the words could not form, or you just felt helpless as you watched someone suffer in pain.
Often when I get in these moments, I am reminded that my presence with the person can mean the world to them. They aren't necessarily looking for you to solve all of their problems. Instead, they are looking for someone to let them know that they are not walking their path alone. All too often when we are going through the fiery moments of our life's journey, it feels like we are all alone. It is then that we just need the presence of a hand to help give us balance as we negotiate the treacherous pathway.
Sometimes a person is suffering in a way that we cannot fully imagine or comprehend. It is not up to us to take that person's suffering away, but we can be there with them with unconditional love, understanding and without judgement. Suffering is difficult for us to be there for others, but when a person suffers it is often their process in discovering more that life has to offer. It becomes their teachable moment and if we think we should take away their suffering, we are doing them a disservice. Instead, let us be there as a support mechanism of balance to them as they attempt to learn what this time of suffering and pain is about in their life.

Fake Communication Through Social Media
Communication these days is lacking when it comes to humans interacting with one another. Yes, if you can LIKE something or RETWEET something and call that communication, then I guess one could claim there is communication. However, a like or a retweet really doesn't say much. Life could go on without these things and it would not miss a step.
We have convinced ourselves in this world that social media is the best thing created since we learned how to take a breath. Yet if we really thought about it, we would see that were faking the human experience out with pseudo communication. In other words, we have convinced our minds that we communicate with one another when in reality, there is no personal connection.
Day after day everyone engages in this new form of communication. Of course let me state that it does have some value when used in moderation. When we substitute human interaction for this, we're missing something vital that we need for our self and the world at large.

Connections With Others
When we open our life up to others, it is there that we can find connection with them.
When we connect with others, they will know that they are not alone.
Once they realize they are not alone, they will have more strength to walk through their journey, thereby evolving in the way they are meant to.

Self Confidence And Negative Chatter
Far too many of us are excellent when it comes to tearing our self down. It is much harder it seems for many people to focus on their good qualities. We all have them. There are things about each one of us that makes each of us special.
Unfortunately throughout our life, we listened to people who did not have our best interests at heart. They may have told us how worthless or stupid or dumb we were. Some of these people may have beaten us for not obtaining perfection as small children. Love or affection might have been withheld if we did not perform to a level of satisfaction for those around us.
We've all got our stories and our experiences. I'm sure any one of us could name them off in a list without taking too much effort. It is sad that we endured these experiences, but it is even more sad that we have carried this baggage into our adult life. I'm not saying it is easy to let go of the baggage, but we need to see it for what it is.
A hypnotherapy CD by Steven Bayner that I am listening to on self confidence talks about creating a list of our good qualities and then reviewing it. It isn't a bad idea. After all, we listen to so much negative chatter in our mind every day that doing something positive for our brain is like a gift from heaven.

Tired Of People Tearing Each Other Apart
Some days I would like to leave my life’s compass behind and just lay into some people. Part of me just wants to put some people in their place. The anger at the crap I hear every day in the news is enough to make a fish walk on land. I’m so tired of the screaming of the mindless opinions on the internet, in the media, the churches and of course – politics.
While I’m sick and tired of all of the rhetoric out there, I try to keep myself from joining the masses. After all, there are enough sick minds out there and I sure don’t need to add my two cents worth to the fray. There are far too many people screaming and proclaiming they have the “truth” and what they “believe” is what everyone else should believe.
Most of the people screaming don’t even understand what they are screaming about, but it doesn’t stop them anyway. Facts mean very little when put in the totality of the beliefs they hold dear. After all, it isn’t about justifying yourself to anyone. It is just about pushing your beliefs upon others whether they have any interest in them or not. It is like my dad used to say, it’s my way or the highway.

Most Heart Attacks Happen On Monday
According to a recent YouTube video lecture by Dr. Jason Satterfiled of USCF, most heart attacks happen on Monday! Hopefully you are not reading this on a Monday or if you are, you are one of those people that take care of yourself. Right, everyone takes care of themselves and heart attacks only happen to other people, not to us!
Unfortunately, I have a feeling that any one reading this is not home free when it comes to heart attacks. Please, by a show of hands, who takes excellent care of themselves? Ok, I see that the majority of you raised your hand. Now, how many of you exercise daily or at least three times a week. Not as many hands stayed up. Of the hands that are still up, how many of you eat a balanced diet and avoid all the nasty junk food? There aren’t as many hands up now. So now, of all the hands still up, who in here monitors their health on a daily basis, checking their pulse rate, and engaging in relaxation and stress reduction? Where did the hands go?
Come on, a moment ago, everyone claimed to take care of themselves and yet, some of the most simple things you can do to help prevent heart attacks are not being done. Are you all kidding yourself or just messing with me in this informal poll?

Do Not Disturb
The past couple of weeks have been excruciatingly difficult. It felt like I was getting smacked in the face with nonstop ocean waves. You know, where just about everything that seems to take place is pushing you very hard in life. I was getting so fed up with everything that had hit me and so tired of it.
By the time I got to this one particular day, I had enough and was in a cranky mood. I didn't want to be around anyone and I didn't want to interact with anyone. I just wanted to find my hole and crawl in it. It was like I had a do not disturb sign on me.
From time to time, I get that way. It is part of my nature and my sensitivity where everything gets to me. What most people feel intensely, I feel that much more. In fact, take the average person and what they feel intensely and then multiply that by a thousand. You would then come close to what I experience. I've gotten better at handling it and dealing with my sensitivity, but at times it throws me under the bus. When that happens, just get out of my cave as I'm going in and putting the do not disturb sign up.

Why Are We In So Much Pain
Are you going through moments in your life where you wonder if you can endure anything more? A recent article I had published looks at pain and suffering and how we can find a way out. Too many of us think that all the pain and suffering in life is there to stay and there is no way out.
However, there is a reason and purpose it is in our life. The thing is, it is often easier to numb our life and escape to fantasy land, rather than taking a long hard look and going into the pain and suffering. Medications, medical procedures, distractions of life, and substances will only prolong our journey.
In this article, I discuss some of the key points that Dr. Paul Canali made in a recent interview with me. It is important information that you will most likely not hear from others in your life. I urge you to read the article and then if you want to hear more, you can click on the links at the end to listen to the interview. I believe the information in this interview is life changing.

Change Your Mind and Change Your Brain
One book I am reading is "Breaking The Habit Of Yourself" by Dr. Joe Dispenza. It is a very good book and I would highly recommend it. Here is one quote from chapter two that I just really liked. It is simple, but to the point.
This is so true! If we keep going day after day with the same thoughts, how can we change the outcome of our day. If we change our mind (a.k.a thoughts), then biologically our brain will change. Once it has changed, there is no stopping us in creating our current and future moments.
When you change your mind, your brain changes; and when you change your brain, your mind changes. (Chapter 2 - Breaking The Habit Of Yourself )

Embrace Life To Fully Live
If we don't take a long hard look at our current moment, than we will more than likely repeat the past moments.
All too often, we spend so much energy in our life running from life, that we fail to live. We numb ourselves and we escape from life, only to find that it has robbed us of the energy we need.
May we learn to embrace our life and fully live, rather than hoping that some day it might get better. - Don Shetterly

Somedays Thank You Is Difficult
Some times life is a challenge. We all know that of course and I'm probably telling you nothing new. Yet, I keep working on things because I'd like to find an easier way through challenges in my own life. One of the things I noticed Dr. Wayne Dyer doing in the movie, The Shift, was that as he woke up in the morning, he would say thank you to the universe.
I have been trying to do this in the mornings lately, but to be honest, when the challenges keep slapping me upside the head, it is anything but easy to do. I mean lately, it has been one thing after another. I'm not talking superficial challenges either, but the kind that rock you to your core. Like I said, it isn't always easy to do this!
However, I keep saying thank you. If my life is upside down, I can hopefully at least trick my mind into believing there is hope and possibility. Just as in the book, Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself, sometimes we have to coax our mind into imagination, rather than just let our minds repeat the same scenarios over and over again.
