Take The First Step

I found the following picture posted to Dr. Wayne Dyer's Facebook page and just had to share this.  The picture depicts this concept so well.  If you look closely, you will notice the words "You don't have to see the whole staircase - just take the first step".  How more perfectly could this thought be stated.

Taking the first step is the key to finding your way through anything in life.  When life gets difficult and it is hard to know where to turn, you just have to take a step.  Sometimes that first step is the hardest because we are not sure if it is the correct one, or what will be the outcome, but if we just take the step we will find out.  It will give us the opportunity to find out if it is the step we need to take or it will teach us something more than we currently know.

Don't worry about identifying everything about the step so that you will be certain if it is the right one or not.  Trust your heart, your intuition and your body to help guide you.  Once you feel it in you, then take the step.  Don't delay!  Don't wait for another moment to come along urging you to take the step.  Just take the first step.

Intuition Comes From The Heart

http://www.heartmath.org
In the movie, I Am, produced by Tom Shadyack, the HeartMath Institute was one of the featured organizations in the film. They are doing some wonderful research in the area of the heart and the connection to our mind. There is a great deal we do not understand about our heart and the mind body connection. I am happy to see an institute like this focus time, energy, and money on this part of our human existence.

In a recent study, the HeartMath Institute found that the heart picks up intuitive information a second or more quicker than the brain. Intuition or a pre-stimulus response can be identified and measured within the body.

Using a research method of gambling, one of the points measured was heart rate variability. Heart rate variability is the difference between heart beats. Employing a roulette wheel, the participants were told that they were doing a gambling study and the goal was to win as much money as possible.

Unseen Steps

In life, I am beginning to define who I am and what I am about. It is not the easiest of times but I feel as if my discovery is exactly where i need to be in this moment. It doesn't pay the bills and often I get discouraged but deep down, I know this is part of my journey to all that is ahead.

If I do not walk these steps, I will not be prepared for what lies around the curve. I must follow my intuition and my gut feeling, no matter how difficult the next steps become on my journey. In the end, I will look back and be amazed at just how all my steps were in sequence even when they were difficult to see.

Yes, it would be easier to just not have to deal with any of this in life and hide my eyes from all that I experience but that is not growth. This is avoidance. I have hid myself from these things for too many years of my life and no longer am I content to do that. I can see how many light years I have traveled and in the difficult times, this gives solace to my soul.
