We all claim we know it, but we often are oblivious. Stress impacts our body in ways we just don't see because often we're not in the mode to see it.
It is just too easy to numb and disconnect without realizing we are doing this.
Consciousness and awareness helps us see the impact of stress upon the body, but when we're going through those stressful moments, that part of us has exited the building. We are in the survival mode of just making it through each moment as if that is all we can do or all we can be.
Every day we allow the stress of life to continue and fail to take a rest break, we're just compounding future problems for our mind and body. Every day we don't stop and connect with our breath, we're robbing ourselves of a stillness that enables power beyond our wildest imagination.
Stress robs us of so much potential in our body and mind. It keeps us down and diminishes what we can be. It keeps us in dis-ease, allowing illness and physical challenges to become the norm in our mind and body.
Even if we try to shove off the stress we're under and minimize it or try to be a magician making it disappear, it is still there silently in the background. It is impacting our body whether we want to believe it is or not.
I know this, but sometimes I forget it. You know, how our presence impacts the world around us. It really does, whether we know it or not or whether we see it or not.
The other day I was helping do some therapy work and realized that my presence was connecting with people long before we spoke. It is like a language that is communicated between myself and others without a word spoken or touch given. I think I've realized this before now, but it was just brought home in a real way for me.
It is a deep connection though where the other person knows if they can trust you or not or if you're safe or not. It is a deep connection where they just know that you're there out of compassion and love, when no exchange has happened. Words can't fool people, because our presence speaks the truth.
I sense these things in other healers and just because someone is a healer, it doesn't mean they have the "right vibe" or "energy level" that makes them safe. Being safe is one of the much needed requirements for any healing work. I've been around far too many that act one way in session work, but act totally different to me outside of that. I've been around far too many that proclaim they have something to offer, but I can see right through them.
We just know...
In many ways, we all interact with one another using these same concepts. We know without a moment's thought, who is trustworthy and safe, and who is someone that you want to avoid or get away from quickly. We know and sense far more than we realize. More often than not, we hide what we know and sense for fear of being laughed at by others.
If you ever watch a cat, dog, horse, or other animal interact with people, you can see that they quickly size up a human. They know quickly what is going on with that person and they don't even have to be next to the person. I've seen it in sheep that I had while in high school who would run from some people and follow me just about anywhere I wanted them to go. Animals know and understand what humans often fail to see.
If we realize just how much our thoughts and energy, actions and words impacted others - we would think differently about the things we say and our behaviors. Why not have a positive impact on the world and those around you by being aware of the "vibe" you put out. You do it regardless, so why not make it a good one and help better the world.
You could be something so good for another person, or just one more difficult moment they have to deal with in their day.
We never know enough about who we are or what all we can be. We all
have had experiences throughout our life that has challenged us to the
core. Some of us have encountered areas where we have struggled to
stand up against the challenges of life.
All of these
experiences are recorded in different ways in our subconscious mind. It
is like information being put into the computer and even though we may
not be aware of it, the subconscious mind is recalling the facts.
We
go through our days oblivious to the impact of these past experiences
on our subconscious. Indirectly they impact our physical body and mind
to the point where we experience illness, disease, pain, and mental
struggles. While we stay oblivious to the impact, they work hard behind
the scenes controlling and manipulating our lives to help us make sense of our days.
We learn how to avoid and disconnect...
As time passes, we learn how to
avoid and disconnect from the revelations of our subconscious mind. We
disregard the messages given to us and we ignore the physical symptoms
that arise until it is too late. By the time we begin to notice them,
they have already been conspiring against us and striving to get our
attention.
In all reality, it is not that subconscious
mind is our enemy, but when we fail to listen to it or connect with it,
we make it the enemy. We stand opposed to the very nature of what it is
hoping to get us to hear and understand.
We become masters at numbing...
We become
masters at avoidance and numbing in our life. We get so good at it that
we do not have a clue we are doing it. We just do it as if we are on
automatic pilot. If someone points it out, we would think they are
speaking a foreign language we don't understand.
How could we
understand? It is the subconscious mind that does not show up unless we
allow it to show up. Without connecting to it, the
subconscious mind stays hidden. It is not accessible through the
logical mind.
In order to recognize and connect with
the subconscious mind, we must first turn off the logical mind and go
internally into our senses. It is through the senses that we become
connected to something far greater than our logical mind understands.
Andre Vermeulen gave a Tedx talk in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is a very good video about his subject of learning, but also meanders through some excellent mind body concepts. I'll discuss a couple of these, but to get the full affect, check out the video link below. It is important information.
As Andre discusses, learning is about gaining information, then applying it so that there are behavioral changes. Information without applying it means nothing. We have to do something with it and that means applying it to our life.
In the speaker's view, to remain competitive, we have to develop competence to out think, out learn, and our create our competition. For me, I think for us to grow as an individual, we need to out think, out learn, and out create our former self. If we don't, we aren't growing as a human.
Most Powerful Form Of Learning...
The most powerful learning form is through the example shown to us. The power of our parents and family and society upon the learning by an infant or a child is unmatched by any university or program available. Those mirror neurons help us learn what we need to learn, but they can also hold us back by locking us into a way of thinking, rather than continuous learning.
He stated in the video that learning is a biochemical process. The brain works electro-chemically. It produces 20 to 25 watts of electricity from the food we eat, the water we consume and the oxygen we breathe. There are many other things that impact the electricity we produce from our brain and body.
Our brain and body generates and conducts electricity also known as energy. People feel your energy without you saying a word. They can tell your energy by the presence that comes before you as you walk into a room. Some of us individuals sense this far more than others, but most likely you can tell an angry person verses a happy person as they walk into the room without them saying a word.
We all impact the world every day...
Our energy influences other people. What we put out into the world, impacts everyone around us and everyone around them. We are all connected whether we want to accept that or not. If you're tearing others down, you're not only tearing the entire world down, but yourself in the process.
We are all impacting the world around us, but if you really want to help the world, becoming aware of what you put out is a good start. It isn't the other people out there that have the problems that impact you. It is what you put into the world.
We can impact the world by radiating positivity, constructiveness, love, acceptance, goodness and kindness. Our energy field influences every other person's energy field. The energy we choose to radiate at this moment is what we should be concerned with in our life. It is what does the most harm or good in the world.
Note: I have shared some of the thoughts I heard in this video with my own thoughts. I do not represent this speaker and he does not represent me. Please just listen to his video with an open mind and challenge yourself.
What can we do today that impacts the world in a positive way? I don't mean, how can we tear each other apart. I don't mean, how can we judge one another.
I really want to encourage everyone to consider ways that they can positively impact the world around them. I believe that one person does and can make a difference.
These days, there is far too much fighting and screaming at one another. These days, there is far too much horror and hatred being inflicted upon one another.
It isn't all the other guys that do it. It isn't just those that disagree with us that rip and shred the fabric of society apart day by day.
It is in the comments we leave on websites tearing down those that dare to disagree with us. It is in the political rallies where we punch and scream and shout at one another as if we are somehow better than the other.
It is in the posts we share on Facebook and Twitter and throughout the social media land. It is how we address one another or scowl at one another. It is how we treat others with respect or disrespect.
There are many ways that we impact the world and if we search deep within us, we will know the truth of what we put out into the world. It is up to each one of us to do some soul searching because the world needs us to come together as one, not pit one against the other.

Sitting through the call today, I came front and center with this part of my life. It was the first session for the Unlimited Abundance Live program with Christie Marie Sheldon. While I'm not surprised at just how much impact is there in my life from my Mom and Dad, I was shocked at the heaviness I felt when the topic came up.
I've been through enough healing work to know that a heaviness means that there is stuff coming up that I need to release. I felt this much more when we were talking about our Dad's philosophy on income, debt, spending and overall money.
In fact, for a short time on the call, I really didn't feel anything. I was disconnecting with it as if it didn't exist. It was very overwhelming. As Christie instructed us to bring in more light, I felt like I was beginning to connect with it, not hide and run from it.
Do you ever stop to think what possibility does to an expected outcome or future event? If you don't think you impact and influence events in your life, you're missing the bigger picture. While sometimes it is hard to believe, we do create events in our life based upon the focus within our mind and body.
Just as the wave of possibility of the electron manifests as a particle within a specific momentary event, we observers cause a particle or groups of particles to manifest physical experiences in the form of events in our lives.
Let's break this down a little bit. When we have a wave of possibility, it ignites electrons to fire. Of course when we hold that we have no possibility in some event or in our life, it also ignites electrons to fire. When these electrons fire, we put into motion, a group of particles and chemicals within our brain and body that carry that ignited electron to a result.
I came across a recent news article that touched my heart and obviously many other people felt the same way as I did. It is one of those moments where you see that there is good in this world and there are other people who want to make a difference as well. All too often, we are possessed in this world by those who are only out to get all they can get and enhance their own lives out of selfishness and greed. In this case, it shows the humanity of this world.
You may have heard of Aaron's wish that he left in his will. Of course, you can read his story by going to the website his brother set up for him, www.aaroncollins.org . One of the things that Aaron wanted to do after he died was leave a generous tip of $500 to a waiter or waitress. This was intended to be a tip to a server for a simple meal or in his words a pizza. He intended to really impact a person's life in a way that would be memorable and change their life.
You can see the following video of how the family did this where they found a waitress at random and gave her the $500 tip. She was over joyed at the gesture and was speechless. You can see her reaction in the video on YouTube of Aaron's Last Wish.
Here is a great video that was forwarded on to me by a friend. While I am not endorsing any of the products on the website that this video goes to, the video was very powerful and inspirational. For this reason, I am including it on my blog. What you decide to do what you see the video is solely up to you.
Some of the simplest things that we think don't really count in life, are the things that do. I truly believe one person can make a big impact upon this world in a good way or a bad way. It has been shown time and time again. It is up to each one of us to have a positive impact upon the world. We do this by being true to ourselves and authentic.
I had the opportunity to see the documentary film created by Tom Shadyac. While you may not know his name, you most likely have seen or heard about some of the movies he has produced. These movies include Bruce Almighty, The Nutty Professor, and Ace Ventura.
Tom's life was going great with successful movies, beautiful homes and a life most would be envious. After a serious bicycle accident, Tom woke up to the feeling that life was so much more. In fact, he felt he was more of the problem than the solution.
Tom and a small crew set out on a quest to answer "what's wrong with this world?" and "what can we do about it?" In the process, Tom learned so much about his life and what is actually right with this world.
There were so many good parts to this movie and it really does challenge you as a human being. Example after example was used that demonstrated in a clear way, just what our life and our world is all about. It isn't just a bunch of new age mumbo jumbo but concepts that stretch us outside of our normal thought limits.
The point that I really liked the most (and that I can remember as I'm writing this), is that life isn't so much about us changing others in the world, as it changing our self which in turn will change the world. It is more about what we do to help enlighten our mind, our body and our path, which in turn will have dramatic effects on the rest of the world.
However, don't just take my word for this! Check out the website and the movie to see how this film impacts your own life. We are much more than we currently are or we currently understand.
Just an additional note that I'll share with you. I was so intrigued by the work of the Heart Math Institute, the effect of world events on the random number generators and the example of how we can impact something as simplistic as yogurt!

It takes a lot for a book to make it into my book reviews. While I find some books compelling and interesting, the books that make it in my book review list are ones I really cherish. They are special books that really impacted my life and gave me that ah ha moment as Oprah would say.
While I will always check out books on Amazon, I'm not easily persuaded to buy books and review them. The book has to hit me and be one that grabs my attention. Otherwise, it is like an exercise in second grade where I feel as if the assignment is completing a book report, which I dreaded.
Please don't think that leaving a comment for me to check out your book because it is what my readers want to see, if going to cut the mustard with me. It has to be much more than that and done in a way where you really are trying to engage me, not just sell me. If your book becomes something that grabs my attention, I'll be more than happy to read it and see how it hits me. Of course, that doesn't mean that it will make it into my book review list.
On the 5th of every month, my goal is to post a review of 1 or more books that have had a strong impact on my life. My reviews will either be a short synopsis of how the book impacted my life or a longer discussion of passages within the book that touched me deeply.
