Daily Angel Meditations December 31

Daily Angel Mediattions

Another website that I have created and write for daily is filled with positive and uplifting messages of growth and awareness.  It is called Daily Angel Meditation and is created from my morning meditations with the angels.  As I take time out in the beginning of my day, I record whatever comes to me.  I start out with a blank piece of paper and no preconceived ideas of what to write.  I then allow the words to fill the page, connecting with what my angels have to say.

Here are selected blog posts beginning the week of December 16, 2012.  I have tried to summarize them briefly and give the actual link to them.  To visit the website, just go to DailyAngelMeditation.com .

Self Love And Self Abuse

The Four Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz - Self Love
We have the need to be accepted and to be loved by others, but we cannot accept and love ourselves. The more self-love we have, the less we will experience self-abuse. Self-abuse comes from self-rejection, and self-rejection comes from having an image of what it having an image of what it means to be perfect and never measuring up to that ideal. Our image of perfection is the reason we reject ourselves; it is why we don’t accept ourselves the way we are, and why we don’t accept others the way they are. True Christmas Humanity - Favorte Blog Post December 2012

True Christmas Humanity - Favorte Blog Post December 2012

Donald D'Haene On Huffington Post

Topic:
During Christmas, I Think of My Once Homeless Brother

Date Posted:  12/24/12

I first met Donald D'Haene at the Oprah Male Survivor show back in 2010.   He is also the author the book, "Father's Touch" which details much of the struggles he went through as a kid.  Even though it was a challenging read, I found it to be rewarding in that I knew someone else truly understood the family issues I faced.

In this blog post, Donald opens up his soul about his family and his long lost brother that was homeless.  It is a touching story that draws you in as if you are almost there watching it take place.  Best of all - it is appropriate for this time of year especially when everywhere we look, there is discord, disrespect, fear and greed running rampant.  All too often people do things at Christmas that are very self centered, but in this case Donald shows through his own life, what it means to do something for someone that truly matters while not seeking any glory for himself.

I'll let you read the blog post he wrote so you get the full effect of what transpired.  You may want to get a Kleenex or two on hand as you read this, because for me - it touched me so deeply.

I really identify in my own life with his statement, "you laugh, you live, but it's always there".   This is more real then I could describe for experiences that I deal with in my own family.  So many people tell you that you have to replace your family and that you can choose your family now, but those words often fall to the ground without meaning because unless you've been through some of this, it is difficult to comprehend exactly what this means.

Thank you Donald for writing this and sharing yourself through your words!

Flu - Cold Season And Rest

Flu - Cold Season And Rest
This is the third part in this series about the cold and flu season.  Please visit the first series, Flu - Cold Season And Mind Body Healing and part 2, Flu And Cold Season And Nutrition.   Reading these first two parts in this series will help you to understand today's blog post much better.

Stress and trauma and nutrition are not the only things that impacts the health of our body.  Getting adequate rest and sleep are essential for our body to function at maximum efficiency.  All too often in our life, we view rest as something we may or may not do on a yearly vacation and we see sleep as something we have to fit into our day.

In many ways we have the emphasis on rest and sleep backwards in our life.  Instead of making it a priority, we try to fit it into our busy schedules, if we happen to get the chance.  We don't see it as a necessity, rather we see it as something that you could do every now and then.  Our bodies require sleep and rest to function.  It is a time when our cells rejuvenate themselves and our mind defrag the stressful and busy moments of our day.

Flu And Cold Season And Nutrition

Flu And Cold Season And Nutrition
While stress, trauma, and past experiences in life have a large effect on the health of our body, there are other factors that play into the health of our body.  If you have not already read yesterday's post about "Flu - Cold Season And Mind Body Healing, I would urge you to do that.  Of course, getting proper nutrition into your body each day helps during cold and flu season.

Eating processed, fried and mutilated foods will not give your body the proper nutrition it needs.  You need whole foods, including vegetables and fruits.  Less sugar, high fructose corn syrup and fatty foods are essential for optimal health.  These foods do nothing but add further stress to your body.  Our diets are lacking in proper nutrition in this country and we consume way too much of what we should not and not enough of what we should.

There is one thing we do in our house each day and that is every morning we have our whole food smoothies.  They are based upon the Food Based Healing principles by Jeff Primack of Qigong.com. We have the Blendtec blender and we take whole vegetables and fruits (skins, seeds and all) and make them into a blended smoothie we drink every morning.  It helps give us all of what we need as well as fiber and it sets up our day with a boost of healthy nutrition.  Since we have been doing this routine, we do not get colds or flu.  Yes, this is in addition to the other healing work I mentioned in the previous blog post, and it is a major part of our day.

Flu - Cold Season And Mind Body Healing

Flu - Cold Season And Mind Body Healing
I read a recent article in our local newspaper that caught my attention.  It stated that the flu and cold season was starting early according to local health clinics.  While I'm sure that is the case, I find it sad that we function as if flu and colds are a normal part of the human existence.

It is easy to get in the mindset that getting sick or getting colds or other health conditions are just part of every day life for humans.  However, this need not be the case.  Now, before you think I'm all whacky and some part of the new age hype, I am speaking from experience here.

A long time ago it seems now, I didn't get sick often, but I would get colds.  I had headaches, including migraines.  I had stomach ulcers, allergies, neck stiffness, back aches, depression, anxiety, conversion disorder, and paralysis, among other things that I can barely remember now.  In fact, I was on medication at one time or another for each of these things and never thought I would be able to function without medications.  I never thought I could be healthy enough to function without all of these conditions.

Then, it happened!   I started to get a tremendous amount of work done on me to help heal my life.  After a life changing event where I lost my mom in a car accident, my entire world turned upside down.  Yes, I had a lot of trauma and if you read my book, Hope And Possibility Through Trauma, you will see some of the situations I had to deal with in my life.  While it would be easy for anyone to recognize that the trauma I had been through was somehow exceptional and the sole reason my body experienced these health conditions, that would not be entirely true.

Christmas Morning Bells - Christmas Piano Songs

Christmas Morning Bells - Christmas Piano Songs
This is the 14th track on my CD.   The CD is titled, Christmas Piano Songs and is a collection of Christmas music that I have enjoyed since I was a child.  All of the music on this CD is instrumental piano music with no vocal.  These songs were ones that I often performed in church or for different caroling events that we did such as nursing homes.

Christmas Morning Bells is a piano piece that I created out of my love for waking up on Christmas Day.  I so remember when I was a kid, the joy of waking up early (or trying to stay asleep through the night) and seeing the gifts that Santa Claus had left under the Christmas Tree.

For us, the gifts were not plentiful, but my mom always managed to make it into a special holiday.  For weeks leading up to Christmas morning, I would live in anxiety and anticipation.  I am still mesmerized by the lights and beautifully wrapped presents under the Christmas tree.  I don't think I will ever get too old for this in my life.

This piano piece tries to capture that joy and innocence of being a kid and celebrating the morning of waking up to see what was under the tree.  It is a celebration of all that is good and peaceful in our life and the true meaning of Christmas throughout the world.  There are no words to this song as the emotion and feeling is all captured in each note.  Enjoy the song and Merry Christmas to you and your family on this special day.

Hopefully you will enjoy my version of these songs on the piano.  These songs are great for having on hand during Christmas parties or even as you unwrap your gifts at Christmas.  I realize the stores overplay Christmas music, but to me, this CD is something special an unique.  I hope you do check it out!

Topic: Search For Answers
We look in so many places and through so many people, but we often fail to see that the answers we search for are within us.  It is too easy to not trust ourselves and go looking in every place where they are not.  As we go deep within consciousness and awareness, it is there that we will find our own soul and the answers we seek.

Joy To The World - Christmas Piano Songs

Joy To The World - Christmas Piano Songs
This is the 11th track on my CD.   The CD is titled, Christmas Piano Songs and is a collection of Christmas music that I have enjoyed since I was a child.  All of the music on this CD is instrumental piano music with no vocal.  These songs were ones that I often performed in church or for different caroling events that we did such as nursing homes.

Joy To The World is a song of triumph and hope and joy that is out of this world.  It is the essence of Christmas and the celebration all over the world.  Joy To The World rings out an energetic melody that I have loved for years.  It feels like one of those piano pieces that you can just bring out the power of the piano keys.

Hopefully you will enjoy my version of this song on the piano.  These songs are great for having on hand during Christmas parties or even as you unwrap your gifts at Christmas.  I realize the stores overplay Christmas music, but to me, this CD is something special an unique.  I hope you do check it out!

Ask The Angels For A Sign

Ask The Angels For A Sign - Angel Therapy Handbook - Doreen Virtue
Ask for a sign. Even though you may be unsure about whether or not you’re hearing your angels, rest assured that they hear you. So when you doubt yourself, ask your angels to give you a sign verifying the validity of their messages. You can convey this request mentally, verbally, or by writing it in a letter. Don’t tell the angels how you want your sign to appear—just ask them to give you a clear one that you can easily recognize, to assure you that you’ve correctly heard their messages. Waking Up on December 21, 2012

As I am writing this post, I'm thinking about all that is going on these days in the world.  The fears that people are feeling and succumbing to are so great, that they are impacting every breath that is taken.  I find it sad that we live in so much fear in our individual lives that we have numbed ourselves to reality and we have given our control over to everything but what is true within ourselves.

This is why I am writing about waking up on December 21, 2012.  It is not about the beliefs and opinions that many hold of the apocalypse or the Mayans, but of actually waking up in consciousness.  It is about opening the veil we have placed over our own eyes with our long held subconscious beliefs in our life.  It is about removing the old and finding our way into awareness that will lead us to a greater consciousness and truth in our life.

It is too easy for each one of us to sit back and recite mantras and do feel good things that continue the numbing process we live our life by each and every day.  From the doomsayers to the new age movement, the numbing is evident if one just opens their eyes.  The numbing allows the fear to grow and fear allows numbing to grow.  It is easy to point the fingers and say each one of us has it right, while everyone else out there does not.  However, just because that is our belief, it does not mean it is the truth.  It may be nothing more than the illusion we have coaxed ourself into believing.

The Answers To Life

The Answers To Life - Super Soul Sunday
I was watching an episode on OWN with Oprah and Super Soul Sunday (Next Generation Spiritual Seekers on 11/18/12) where they were talking about spirituality and awakening to our divine purpose in life.  One of the things that struck me the most because I so strongly believe this as well, is the guests on her show, stated that the answers to life are within us.  You won't find the answers in the outside world.  While I have come to know this as truth, there is a significant number of humans that do not see this.

While I fully believe that there are people around us to help us find the answers to life, they are not there to give us the answers.  Anyone you seek out that does this, is leading you down a path that is not probably the best for your life.  If they help you to help yourself in discovering the answers, then you are on the right path.

No one in this world, knows what is best for you.  They have not walked in your footsteps and they are not able to see in its entirety, your life's path.  You are your own person and you own your own experiences.  No one on this planet can fully understand what makes you live and breathe and function in the way that you do.

What If Money Didn't Matter?

What If Money Didn't Matter?
The other day I saw this come through on my twitter feed and I thought it was good enough to share.  We all want and need income, but sometimes we get so fixated upon money, that we lose site of everything else that matters in life.  Sometimes we look for direction in life, but instead we become focused on money, rather than the purpose behind our life.

As I am learning in my life, service to humanity plays a much bigger role in helping us connect with abundance.  When we find things that make us happy and inspire our heart, it is then that we will find true purpose in life.

This video, What If Money Didn't Matter, on facebook was a good reminder of these things.

Recurring Dreams With Themes

Recurring Dreams With ThemesThe past couple of nights I have been going very deep in my sleep.  I am having dreams that are so vivid that I can remember well into the next day.  Normally when I dream, if I don't write it down upon waking up, I forget it.  This is not the case with this dream.

Not long ago, I had some very intense healing work and it was abundantly clear that my life was shifting rapidly and so was my energy.  Things have begun to really change for me and I am no longer in the despair mode I was a few months ago.  As I continue to clear the energy blocks in my life, more and more is coming into view.

In fact, I've been reminded twice lately (almost word for word) that our focus of life should be upon service to others.  I saw a quote about this not long ago and then last night in my reading, it said the same thing.  It is like someone is trying to get a message to me and I'm hearing it loud and clear.

Topic: Triggers And Pain
Triggers and pain can come up quickly from images and current moments in our life.  It doesn't take much to transport us to an earlier connection in our life.  This is an account of how I am currently walking through a moment such as this, and attempting to not get stuck.  I am asking my angels to help support me during this time.

We Three Kings - Christmas Piano Songs

We Three Kings - Christmas Piano Songs
This is the 6th track on my CD.   The CD is titled, Christmas Piano Songs and is a collection of Christmas music that I have enjoyed since I was a child.  All of the music on this CD is instrumental piano music with no vocal.  These songs were ones that I often performed in church or for different caroling events that we did such as nursing homes.

We Three Kings is one of the first songs I ever learned on the piano when I first started to take lessons.  I remember Mrs Tucker, my piano teacher buying this book of Christmas Piano Songs for me and We Three Kings was one of the fist I learned.  It has always held a special place in my heart because of that.

This song was a favorite in church nativity plays and worship services.  It has such a majestic feel to it that it gives the feeling of a royal king when it is played.

Hopefully you will enjoy my version of this song on the piano.  These songs are great for having on hand during Christmas parties or even as you unwrap your gifts at Christmas.  I realize the stores overplay Christmas music, but to me, this CD is something special an unique.  I hope you do check it out!

Self-Regulation Gives Freedom From Pain

Self-Regulation Gives Freedom From Pain
Self-regulation is the cornerstone of our approach in Freedom from Pain. In general, learning to regulate the emotional and physical states that may be linked to your suffering is what will bring you into a collaborative alliance between mind, emotion, and spiritual awareness, through body experience. I Hear The Message

Have you ever been thinking about something and within a short time, it appears that the answers shows up in your life?  Today, such an event happened.  There is a project that I want to do with a musical concept that connects the mind and body in healing.  While I can record the various music parts, I don't have the expertise, nor the money to put the project together.

Around 7 pm tonight, I was talking with my partner over supper about this project.  He knows what it is about and I was sharing with him that I really wanted to get this project moving forward.  Not only do I want to do this for myself as a source of revenue in the future, but more importantly, I think the world needs this.  I think people really need this to happen.

My biggest stumbling block though is how to pull this project together.  There are people I need to somehow connect with to make it happen because I don't have the expertise needed to complete it.  As we talked about that we came up with a couple of different people to contact to see what may happen.  I was also thinking about just asking the angels to bring this together.

Black Friday Craziness

Black Friday Craziness
I'm sure we all sit here gasping when we read various headlines.  After all, we see this black Friday craziness and wonder if we reside on the same planet with these shoppers that purport to be human.  I've seen accounts this year of someone claiming they will stab another if they try to shove their way in.  I've seen accounts of a lady that fought with police to get in line until they held her down, handcuffed her and hauled her to jail.  There are the people who spend days of their life waiting in line, trying to get a deal that saves them a couple hundred bucks.  Last but not least, there are the ones that spend day and night shopping and buying everything they can get their hands on.

Of course, we have the other side of the issue where some people boycott businesses on Black Friday and urge everyone else to do the same.  There are ones who could care less what is going on in the store and try to stay away from all the Black Friday Craziness.  Yet, you also will find people who have waited all year to buy some items that are now deeply discounted and make them more affordable.  I'm sure I am leaving out many other people as well.

Holidays Suck Less

Holidays Suck Less
This year, I have been trying something different.  In years past, I barely lived through any of the major holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Normally I would be taken under by the weight of past experiences, hoping that the minutes would rush by and the end would come quickly.  In order to make holidays suck less, I decided it was time to change things in life.

One of the things I did this year was I had some major healing release work done on me just prior to the holidays.  Going into these healing sessions, I wasn't completely fixated on the holidays, but it was definitely on my mind.  Through these healing sessions, I was surprised at what came up and took place.  It was a far different picture than what I thought it would look like and it felt far different than what I expected.

As a result though, I'm making it this year much better than most years.  Yes, I still feel the stress and weight of the past, but they are not as large of creatures as I normally would observe.  It is like they are normal every day stress, not giants that would gobble me up in one bite.  They are manageable in that I can do some regular activities to help deflate the stress, rather than be over taken by it.  It helps me to experience a moment when holidays suck less.

Gratitude List 2.0 Upgrade

Gratitude List 2.0 Upgrade
For years on this blog, I've been talking about doing something that is so simple.  In fact, if you go back to 2009, you will see a blog post I wrote on "The Gratitude Jar".  At the time, I was using that extensively and it really helped me focus throughout my day on gratitude.  Generally speaking, if we are not looking and not aware of moments of gratitude, they will slip by our attention without even noticing them.

As time has shifted and changed for me, I sort of lost track of doing the gratitude jar or a gratitude list.  I thought I had come to the point where I was seeing it throughout my day.  While it would be safe to say that I was, there are times that I am still missing that which is around me.  As humans, it is very easy to miss the obvious, even if it is staring us in the eyes.

Now, I've started to do something different on gratitude.  Instead of just making a list at the end of my day of things I am grateful for, I am enhancing it.  You could say it is the Gratitude List 2.0 Upgrade and download.  However, it is what is currently speaking to my heart and I'm following the intention of it to more clearly focus my life.

What Child Is This - Christmas Piano Songs

What Child Is This - Christmas Piano Songs
This is the 5th track on my CD.   The CD is titled, Christmas Piano Songs and is a collection of Christmas music that I have enjoyed since I was a child.  All of the music on this CD is instrumental piano music with no vocal.  These songs were ones that I often performed in church or for different caroling events that we did such as nursing homes.

What Child Is This is the reason many celebrate the Christmas Season with these Christmas songs.  Such a lovely and flowing melody that makes feel such love so intensely.  It has a nice rhythm to it which just flows from one note to the next.

I remember playing this one often in Church as a young boy for worship services, caroling events, and at nursing homes.  It is definitely one of my favorites and one that just leaves me with a smile on my face.

Hopefully you will enjoy my version of this song on the piano.  These songs are great for having on hand during Christmas parties or even as you unwrap your gifts at Christmas.  I realize the stores overplay Christmas music, but to me, this CD is something special an unique.  I hope you do check it out!

Claircognizants

The Angel Therapy Handbook By Doreen Virtue
Claircognizants also ignore their Divine guidance because they believe that what they know is obvious to others. “Everybody knows that!” claircognizants will decide, and won’t capitalize on the brilliant idea that they just received. It doesn’t help that many have been teased for being know-it-alls, so they hesitate to speak up for fear of being ridiculed. Yet this label has a kernel of truth to it, for claircognizants are very tapped into the collective unconscious. - Pg 102 of The Angel Therapy Handbook by Doreen Virtue

Pushing Beyond The Fears - Part Two

Pushing Beyond The Fears - Part Two
This is Part 2 in a 2 part series.  Please begin by reading Part 1.

I was so miserable inside and I felt my life longing to be more than I was. There was something inside of me that kept pushing me forward. It kept pushing me beyond my fears. So, then it happened! I decided to help out Duplin Outdoor Drama, selling tickets. Okay, it wasn’t anything earth shattering. Millions of people could have done that, but to me it was still hiding behind a table handling cash, but taking a major baby step to go beyond my four walls. It was a slow emergence out into the world, but all the time hiding behind a barrier (aka the table that separated me from the people wanting to buy tickets to the show.) Soon, I was taking on more and more responsibilities, from helping to line up workers to manage the ticket tables, to making the deposits into the bank after the show. In time, I would be elected to the board of directors and help run the organization, along with other volunteers.

Maybe this doesn’t sound like something earth shattering and in many ways it is not. Yet, by putting myself out there into something I would normally have never done in a million years, I began to heal myself from this fear. In fact, I began to make some close friends and when I had to leave there a year later to catch another journey in my life, I was saddened by the thought of leaving this place. Only a year earlier, I had been so afraid to venture out into this world.

Pushing Beyond The Fears - Part One

Pushing Beyond The Fears - Part One
In a not so distant time, I remember being so afraid to leave the walls of my house. Of course, it was just another fear that I had to deal with. While this particular fear has a shape and size to it, what I did to go beyond translates into many other types of fears. For in this moment that I experienced this, I was so afraid to move beyond the current situation I was in. Pushing beyond the fears was anything but a comforting thought in my mind.

You see, I was afraid to leave the house. If I was not going to my house or to the store to buy groceries, I did not leave my four walls. It was only out of necessity that I left the walls I was in. I felt safe and secure in my home with the windows closed, blinds drawn, and doors locked. I felt safe within the confines of my home where I was hidden from the outside world. I did not want visitors and I encouraged no one. I had very few close friends that were not work related and I only socialized with them when it was required during the course of a business day.

People were a threat. The outside world was a threat. Pushing beyond the fears of my four walls was like asking me to swim across the Atlantic Ocean. This was not going to happen. Anxiety would build up within me every time I even gave the slightest thought to venturing outside. Even if I went to the store, it was timed to be during moments of the day when I thought there would be the fewest people in the store. I did not want to see, talk, or be around any more people than I absolutely needed to.

Major Moment Of Embarrassment And Shame

Major Moment Of Embarrassment And Shame
The other day I went to a healer in South Florida by the name of Kathi Angeli.  I have been to her several times before and each time, it really helps me move forward in life, while letting go of long held energy blockages and finding forgiveness for experiences of my past that I encountered.  This session was no different and at first, I thought it was not going anywhere.  Lo and behold to my surprise, things got intense real quick and I was shocked at the event that came up.

Way back many years ago around the time I was 14 years old, there was an incident that happened with me and my younger brother.  I don't think I had hid this experience from my consciousness, but I never fully realized just what impact it had on my life.  In reality, I just chalked it up to another one of those experiences from my traumatic past that I had to heal and work through.  In fact, I thought I had worked through it, but then healing trauma is a process, not necessarily an end point like so many often believe.

In this experience, my mother (God rest her soul) who hardly ever whipped us, got upset with something my younger brother and I were doing.  I cannot even remember what it was to this day that sparked the whipping. I really doubt it was much of any significance.  In our house, the slightest breath could get you whipped.  I recognize she was having issues with my father and more than likely took that out on us, rather than dealing with it in her own life.

Your Issues Don't Belong To Me

Your Issues Don't Belong To Me
I’m an extremely sensitive. I pick up so much in others and people all around me including plants, buildings, the collective consciousness and energy of the world, etc. I pick it up and I do it in a very intense way. It doesn’t shut off unless I put up walls and hide myself from the world.

So what I’m learning is to identify what issues are my stuff and what issues don’t belong to me. If I feel triggered by them, I’m starting to look at them and see what it is that I need to learn in my life or what opportunity is being presented to me. Triggers aren't fun, but if we allow them the opportunity, they can teach us great things about our life.

I’m just trying not to take all these things that I pick up on and hold them in my mind, body, and spirit or in my energy field. I’m recognizing them for who owns them and giving them back to whoever they belong to. I'm learning to release and let them go, rather than holding them as tight and endearing as a teddy bear. It isn’t always easy but as a wise healer told me recently – if you can do it 51% of the time – you’re on the right path and if you can do it 100% of the time – write the book to teach everyone else.

Here are selected blog posts beginning the week of November 18, 2012.  I have tried to summarize them briefly and give the actual link to them.  To visit the website, just go to DailyAngelMeditation.com .

The First Noel - Christmas Piano Songs

Away In A Manger - Christmas Piano Songs
This is the 4th track on my CD.   The CD is titled, Christmas Piano Songs and is a collection of Christmas music that I have enjoyed since I was a child.  All of the music on this CD is instrumental piano music with no vocal.  These songs were ones that I often performed in church or for different caroling events that we did such as nursing homes.

The First Noel or also known as The First Nowell is one that just invites peace when you hear the song.  The melody drifts me off into a place where few songs can take me.  Of course, any song that talks about angels, I'm mesmerized by and this one definitely does that. It tells the basic Christmas story as we have come to know it.  Such a simple song, but so profound in the emotions that it invokes.

Hopefully you will enjoy my version of this song on the piano.  These songs are great for having on hand during Christmas parties or even as you unwrap your gifts at Christmas.  I realize the stores overplay Christmas music, but to me, this CD is something special an unique.  I hope you do check it out!

Is Pain Something You Live With?

Is Pain Something You Live With?
A report published in 2000 revealed that as many as 60 percent of the respondents believed that pain is just something you have to live with, and 28 percent felt there was no solution to their pain. (Freedom From Pain by Peter Levine)

I love reading the stuff that Rick Belden writes for the Good Men Project. This is a great site with wonderful insights that really cut through the clutter and BS of life.  This post is just one example and I urge you to check out the rest of his website, The Good Men Project (see link above).

In this topic, so many of us grow up in religious homes and when we are young, these teachings really take over our life.  Being taught from an early age about how bad things are going to get us if we don't believe a certain way, continues on throughout our life.  It makes us vulnerable to other controls and manipulations in our society.

I've come to learn that the most important spiritual practice I can have is to get to know myself deeper, each and every day.  It isn't about having religious beliefs or following some new age practice rituals.  It is about getting to know ever part of our being, and then once we think we've got it, we begin on a much deeper journey.

For many of us who were abused at the hands of those in a church or professed God to all corners of the world, these religious rituals mean very little.  Yes, they do influence life and our mind, but they no longer hold the control that they once did.  We are able to see through the fog of beliefs and recognize them for what they are, not for the truth that is perpetuated at will.  You can disagree with me all you want, but I've been to the mountain and see what is on the other side for myself.  I have no need to participate in this charade any longer.  It doesn't mean I am not spiritual, but I view it completely different than most of the world.

We Numb Gratitude And Happiness

We Numb Gratitude And Happiness Brene Brown
Brene Brown is one of my favorite speakers.  You may know her from the TED conferences where she likes to talk about vulnerability and shame which happens to really resonate with me personally.  In a talk she gave, there was a quote that was very profound.

When we numb [hard feelings], we numb joy, we numb gratitude, we numb happiness. (Brené Brown) - from The Power Of Vulnerability

You see, numbing is something we all do as humans.  It is part of our biology and it is an unconscious act which replicates itself most likely every day of our life.  We are usually unaware that we are doing it, but it runs like fine tuned software program.

Integrity Does A Body Good

Integrity Does A Body Good
Hiding in the shadows, only the darkness knows or at least it seems that way at times.   Integrity seems to be lacking these days, but yet the darkness of our actions seems to be the main emphasis in life.  In fact, some might say that integrity is no longer the norm as it once was in our society.  We have drifted into the realm of the dark side of life while claiming it is what we have always known.  For truth shines a light that is much greater than the darkness, but a lack of integrity tries to alter what we know to be the truth into a form that appears to be the truth.

All my life I have had a truth detector built in just like I see in Judge Judy and others.  I have always told people around me, don't try to lie to me because if I don't' figure it out at that moment, most likely I will in the days ahead.  I'm skeptical by nature, but I read body language and match words against what the body is saying.  If they don't match up, I get suspect of what the person is saying.  I match it against previous communication or store it in my memory bank to do comparative analysis in my mind at a later time.

Some people are easy to spot when they are not being fully honest, while others do a great job of hiding it.  It is much easier to see then most realize.  I believe there is an energetic vibration that alerts the mind and body to what is being said and what is truly meant.  Unfortunately, the dark side of lacking integrity tries to make us believe that we can say and do whatever we want without anyone detecting what is going on.

Christmas Shopping Season

Christmas Shopping Season
It's that time of year again!  You know, where we celebrate Christmas with some good ol' fashioned shopping.  Its barely time for Halloween to be over and the Christmas shopping season is in full swing.  Christmas carols are playing, merchandise is out and designed for the "i want everything" shopper.

Stores are lightly decorated to appear as if they are Christmas, but not enough to really make them look nice.  After all, we don't want to spend much on Christmas decorations.  We just want people to buy stuff.  The Black Friday specials are already being announced and almost launched.  In fact, some stores report they are going to open them up early.  Really, who needs the Thanksgiving holiday to get in the way.

Of course, you have the people that claim there is a reason for the season and how awful it is that we take Christ out of Christmas. Yet these very same people are the ones beating the other shoppers down as they grab the latest and greatest toys and gadgets.  They talk the talk, but they don't walk the talk!

Topic:  Challenge Of Change
Life is hectic at times and minutes seem to never be enough as time flies by in our day.  While the challenge of change can be positive, often it comes with a struggle to adjust to it.  In the moment it may be difficult to see, but in time it will show to us everything we need to know.

Away In A Manger - Christmas Piano Songs
This is the 3rd track on my CD.   The CD is titled, Christmas Piano Songs and is a collection of Christmas music that I have enjoyed since I was a child.  All of the music on this CD is instrumental piano music with no vocal.  These songs were ones that I often performed in church or for different caroling events that we did such as nursing homes.

Away In A Manger is one of those songs that is so simple, but it is so beautiful to me.  I love the words to this Christmas song.  One of the things I most like about it is the melody because it just lulls me into a very peaceful state.  It is simple and fun to play and one of my all time favorites.

Hopefully you will enjoy my version of this song on the piano.  I do apologize that featuring these songs on my blog is a little early, but in order to space them out over time, I needed to begin early.  I also realize people are looking for beautiful Christmas music for events coming up in December.

Techniques Learned From Children

Techniques Learned From Children
Today in my inbox, was the daily email from The Universe.   I read this and couldn't help but smile.  At that moment, I knew I needed to share this.  When we are children, we see life in a very unfiltered and uninhibited way.  As we grow into adults, our experiences begin to shroud our view of life.  Life takes on a new meaning and we lose that innocence we once had as children.  So today I'm sharing the daily email from "The Universe" on Techniques Learned From Children.  I hope you enjoy it and if you do, you can also subscribe free at TUT.com.

Here are a few techniques learned from children, that will help anyone take their game, or their life, to a whole new level:

1. Once a day playfully imagine that you're already there.

2. Frequently speak in gratitude as if you've already arrived.

3. And, every now and then, physically do something you never would have done at the old level... like praise yourself, reward yourself, or cluck a few times with thumbs under your arms.

I'll never tell a soul,

Stop Fighting Yourself

Stop Fighting Yourself
One of the most difficult things to realize when you are going through hell in your life is that learning to let go is most likely the thing that you need the most.  The more you fight, the more you slow down progress.  Stop fighting yourself and you will find your way through the difficult moments.

While I realize that what I am saying is much harder to do then write here on the screen, I know from first hand experience how true this is.  You see, the more we fight going into the pains and difficulties of life, the more we feed hopelessness and feel full of despair.  The more hopeless we feel, the less we tap into the power we hold within our bodies.  We take on an energy of fighting against ourselves, rather than working with our mind body to uncover what it is that we need to become aware of in our life.

Fighting is the easy way out.  It is the normal part of our ego and our unconscious self.  The difficult part is learning that fighting with our self is not getting us anywhere.  Instead, the more we surrender into the situation and we try to learn what message is attempting to be delivered to us from our mind and body, the more we will heal our life.  Each of us are a powerful entity that when we tap into that power, we can transform our lives.

We Block Our Abundance

We Block Our Abundance
For the first time in my life, I think I'm getting it!  After years and years of fighting to understand abundance, I think I'm beginning to get a glimpse of what it truly is all about in life.  Now, I'm not sitting here and saying I know all there is and my life is all perfect at this moment, but I've come a long ways.

I'm really beginning to learn that we block our abundance in so many ways.  It really is "us" who gets in the way of all that we are part of in this big universe.  Yes, I know that this may sound way too simple and almost like someone who doesn't understand would state as fact.  I'm here to tell you though, that this is exactly what I have been learning.

It isn't the government, or places of business or families, friends, churches or the evil in this world that stops us from connecting with the true source of our life.  It isn't all the people who have done us wrong in life or the obstacles we think are in our way.  It is not the sun, moon, stars, or some fallen energetic force that stands in our way.  Let me state this again that we block our abundance.

Dream Of Rushing Water And Cement Truck

Dream Of Rushing Water And Cement Truck
Last night I had one of those unusual moments that really doesn't make sense.  It was a dream about rushing water and a cement truck.  In the dream, the location was in a mountainous and hilly location which had gotten a lot of sudden rain.  For some time the weather forecasters had been telling people to take cover because there was going to be enormous amounts of rain fall.  However, people went along with their daily lives thinking that all of these warnings meant nothing.

Then, it happened!  The rain started to fall suddenly and in a great quantity.  It came rushing down out of the mountains and hills towards a valley and soon the water was so deep.  My friends and I along with some people I really didn't know, were driving this cement truck and drove it on to a big raft.  We got there just in time for the water to swoop down and lift us off with people trying to jump on the raft as the water pushed it away.  People were running and screaming for help, wanting us to stop to let them on the raft, but there was no way to stop the raft.  Finally the raft came to a standstill as the water began to spread out.  I don't exactly remember what the cement was for, but I believe it was to start building the wall of a dam up.

Advice From Hurricane Survivors

Advice From Hurricane Survivors
With the storm that hit the Northeast part of the country, I noticed an article on CNN.com that appeared to be very helpful.  In this article, Hurricane Katrina and Joplin Tornado survivors shared some of the experiences they went through and advice they had for others in the aftermath of storm destruction.

There is no easy way through these ordeals, but with the help of everyone in our nation, we will recover.  I have never personally had to deal with the destruction of a storm, but I have lived through many hurricanes and saw first hand the destruction and how lives were impacted.

In this article, Katrina, Joplin survivors offer advice to Sandy victims, there is some real word advice and help.  I know that when you are experiencing moments that seem like your whole world has fallen apart, it can help to know you are not alone.  It sometimes helps to learn from those that have already walked through the fires that you are currently walking through.

Topic:  Angels Are Always With Us
It does not take a fancy prayer or a special person to communicate with the angels.  They are always there for us, waiting with arms of love to assist or support us.  The more we become authentic and let go of our fears and ego, the more we can see that the angels are always with us.

Angels From The Realms Of Glory - Christmas Piano Songs

Angels From The Realms Of Glory - Christmas Piano Songs
I so enjoy this song at Christmas time.  Angels From The Realms Of Glory is such a beautiful song that embodies much of what the Christmas Story is all about.  It is a detailed song, but one that focuses on the message brought by the Angels.  Since I love angels so much and they mean so much in my life, there was no way I could not highlight this song.  It is the second track on my CD, Christmas Piano Songs.

The songs on my CD are my heartfelt piano renditions of many Christmas Songs from my childhood.  Since there are only so many weeks left before Christmas, I will try to highlight the various songs on this CD and include the words to each one.   I do apologize that it may be a little early to do this, but with only a limited number of weekends remaining before Christmas, I have to begin sharing them now before it is too late.

Listen or purchase Christmas Piano Songs on Amazon or iTunes.

Answers Within Us

Hope And Possibility Through Trauma - Answers Within Us
We have so much truth within ourselves, and we have too much strength that we know not of.  Yet we as humans look outward for these things, when they are not outside of us but inside of us.  (Page 160, Hope and Possibility Through Trauma by Don Shetterly)

When Your Body Hurts

When Your Body Hurts
Sometimes we as humans make things far too difficult.  When your body hurts, it is time to stop in life and take stock of what is happening.  Body pain and hurts is signaling to you that something is wrong and you need to pay attention.

Unfortunately, we as humans tend to reach for the pain pills or rush to the doctor at the first sign of body pain.  We don't stop and take inventory of our life, or if we do, we feel like were too busy to do anything about it.  So we continue pushing ourselves and propping ourselves up with stimulants, drugs, and constant activity in order to keep us going.  However, the more we do this, the more we are playing into a never ending cycle of pain, physical destruction and approaching the edge of no return.

When your body hurts, the first thing to do is stop and take an inventory of your life.  What is happening in your life, emotionally, mentally and spiritually (and I'm not talking religion either).  Usually there are events taking place that have led up to the body issues or there is emotional turmoil going on within your life.  You may be unaware of it, but that doesn't mean it exists.

Finding Our Authentic Self

Finding Our Authentic Self
It is easy for each one of us to go through our day oblivious to all that we hold within about who we truly are.  We listen to far too many people who really don't know much more than we do, yet we trust their judgement over ours.  We see the loudest, smooth talking person as having all the answers and yet we fail to find our authentic self.

Our authentic self isn't going to be found in a book or program or person or organization of beliefs.  It isn't going to be found under the shiny lights or the most attended lectures we can find.  It isn't going to be found by listening to someone preach from a pulpit once a week proclaiming they have all the answers.

We find our authentic self when we travel deep within our mind and body.  When we touch the source of our pain and existence in life, we become acquainted with truth and authenticity.  This is not a mental exercise that we do, but one that we feel through the felt sense of our body, connected to our mind.

Stop And Find The Answers Within You

We all have our go-to people that we listen to in life.  In fact, many are out seeking and asking for others to help answer questions they struggle with each day.  While each person may not realize just how much they are looking for answers, it is happening right before our eyes.

I constantly see on Facebook and Twitter, the sharing and spreading of feel good posts.  While there is nothing wrong with that, it often seems or appears fake in many ways.  It seems overdone and run into the ground.  In many ways, it is like this is all that matters - that we just want to see pretty little pictures and happy thoughts spread from one person to another.

Now don't get me wrong because seeing these things can be uplifting in our day help us to pull ourselves up through the difficult moments we face.  The problem I have with it is that instead of going within and seeking the answers from our higher self, we begin looking to everyone else to fulfill that need.  We lose site of becoming more aware in our life and more conscious, in lieu of seeking advice and answers from everyone else out there.

Healing Disease With Smothies

This is the program we have followed and after 4 years, we still do this every day. The best part about this program is you don't have to go to some company and buy something to take every day. You purchase everything you need at your local grocery store or grow it in your garden. It does take a high powered blender which isn't cheap to buy, but so far the one we bought has lasted 4 years. I have heard many stories now of people who have changed health conditions in their life from following what Jeff Primack teaches.

In this blog post, notice the picture of the blender we use.  It is the Blendtec blender and is powerful enough to chop through everything required for these smoothies, seeds and all.  I believe it is the blender of choice for Jeff Primack.  They are available through places such as Amazon.  A regular blender just won't do the job that is required to make these smoothies, so don't even waste your time with a cheap blender.  If you are going to do this, invest in a good, high powered blender.

Topic:  My Life Has Changed
Sometimes when we hit those low moments in our life, the only way we have to go is up.  Fortunately in one such low point, I followed my intuition with the help of the angels and began climbing up out of the hole that I had dug in my life.  Once I began to do this, my life has changed in dramatic ways..
