Apocalypse Island December 21, 2012

Apocalypse Island
12-21-2012
On the History channel the other day I watched a show called Apocalypse Island. While I cannot prove a thing in the show, there was a great deal of information presented with the movie's conclusions. No one knows if anything will happen on December 21, 2012 or if this is much like Howard Camping's predictions about the end of the world on October 21, 2011.

I realize that there are many authors, writers, historians and people following this story. What will be the ultimate truth, is anyone's guess at this moment. While I have personally picked up on events throughout my life, years before I had any concept of the places or circumstances, I do know that determining a date is next to impossible.  Often if we could predict a date, so many things could be avoided in this world.  I wonder though, if date predictions are what the universe is all about?

In the movie, Explorers visit a remote island in the Pacific Ocean where Mayan relics exist. According to various facts and artifacts, the Mayans predicted the end of the world on 12-21-12, the end of a 5000 year calendar.  According to the movie, it was as if the 5000 year calendar was more of a countdown event towards the end of our world.

From where the Mayans lived, this island is some distance away and required extensive sea travel. As depicted in the movie, getting to this island was anything but easy and the timing of the weather and season was critical to make a successful journey. Once arriving at the island, it was almost impossible for them to reach land because of the large rocks just off shore hidden and submerged below the water.

In the movie, there were many references to the transient of Venus and the total eclipse of the sun which is forecast to be seen from the top of this rock structure at a specific time. While it was difficult for the explorers to climb to the top of this rock to take in this specific view, they managed to accomplish this.

In addition, they talked about the jungle with the ancient monuments (pyramid type structures) that were engulfed by the vegetation. There has not been a lengthy exploration to excavate the ancient ruins for further clues and knowledge about December 21, 2012.

The main explorer (James Turner) and researcher on this movie talked about how when he set out studying the Mayans and Apocalypse Island, he was extremely skeptical. He did not believe any of it. However, as the story in the movie continues, he became more and more convinced that the answers to what will happen on 12-21-2012 lie somewhere on that island. In fact, he feels that they will not be found until the time is right, just before the end of civilization.

If you do a quick search on Apocalypse Island, you will find various internet websites and information sources to prove or disprove this entire theory. While that is no surprise these days, I have no idea which information source is correct and which is not. The movie did show a compelling storyline but in order to offer an opposing view point, you may want to check out the following website ( http://www.2012hoax.org/apocalypse-island ).

I also know that Gregg Braden has done extensive research on the secrets of 2012 and the new world order. So, you might want to check him out as a source of information.

Whatever you do, I would suggest that you read and do your own research to find out what connects with you and what does not in this entire topic. More importantly though, none of us have any control over events in the future. We only have control of what we do in this moment and those moments lead us to our future. Learning to live in today's moment and growing our minds and bodies in conscious awareness, will get us further than fighting over the details of what may or may not happen in the future.
