Waking Up on December 21, 2012

As I am writing this post, I'm thinking about all that is going on these days in the world.  The fears that people are feeling and succumbing to are so great, that they are impacting every breath that is taken.  I find it sad that we live in so much fear in our individual lives that we have numbed ourselves to reality and we have given our control over to everything but what is true within ourselves.

This is why I am writing about waking up on December 21, 2012.  It is not about the beliefs and opinions that many hold of the apocalypse or the Mayans, but of actually waking up in consciousness.  It is about opening the veil we have placed over our own eyes with our long held subconscious beliefs in our life.  It is about removing the old and finding our way into awareness that will lead us to a greater consciousness and truth in our life.

It is too easy for each one of us to sit back and recite mantras and do feel good things that continue the numbing process we live our life by each and every day.  From the doomsayers to the new age movement, the numbing is evident if one just opens their eyes.  The numbing allows the fear to grow and fear allows numbing to grow.  It is easy to point the fingers and say each one of us has it right, while everyone else out there does not.  However, just because that is our belief, it does not mean it is the truth.  It may be nothing more than the illusion we have coaxed ourself into believing.

Waking up on December 21, 2012 is not about being a liberal or a conservative.  It is not about which set of politically charged topics is the right one and which is the wrong one.  It isn't about which religion holds the truth or which group thinks they have found the answers for their life.  Waking up consciously is not about what people think and believe happens, but what they can hold as evidence based truth within their mind and body.  All too often we hold truth in our hands thinking it is truth, but it is nothing more than our own set of beliefs.

We all want to believe in hope and possibility and we all hate to see fear and tragedy.  However, what we are doing in this world is not moving beyond these things.  We have become one with fear, not risen above it.  I could list many examples here to illustrate that point, but until you move past the fear that runs your life, your own ego would fight against these and claim they were nonsense lies.  Each one of us has to travel our own path of discovery and find out what is truth and what is fear in our own life.  In order to do that, we must let go of all that we believe to sift through the illusions of what we have been taught.

The answers we seek are not found in some program, person, ideology, political front or in a particular news media group.  The answers are not found in some religious teachings or in a building with people claiming to hold the truth.  While all of these may be a set of beliefs and opinions that each of us hold, the truth can only be found within us.  It is only present when you allow yourself to connect physically with your body through the felt sense while connecting the awareness of the mind.  When you do that, a great door of consciousness will be opened up to you and life will look completely different from that point forward.

In the end, waking up on December 21, 2012 is not about following some set of beliefs and opinions about what will happen to the world or what may happen in the future.  It is about waking ourselves up to consciousness and becoming aware of our mind body connection in a way we have never experienced.  Giving up all that you have followed throughout your life, may very likely be the best gift you can ever give yourself because to do this, means you are finally giving yourself the opportunity to truly discover who you are.

Of course, I'm not going to sit here and demand that you believe what I say, but you may want to test what I'm saying against what you have done.  Make it more than a thought process and root it in the felt sense of the body, because then you will have something of value.  Glorious thoughts are only temporary, but the ignition of change within the body to discover truth is something that lasts a life time.
