I love it when an animal teaches us about life by just being themselves.  I ran across this video the other day and just found it to be cute.  It was a great way to help remind us that simple things in life mean so much.  If you're a cat lover, you know just how true this video is.

There is so much that animals can teach us and all we have to do is spend a moment with them.  Some days we complicate our lives by making it more than it needs to be.  If we just step back for a moment and find the little things in life, we will most likely be amazed at how much joy we can find in our own day.

I hope you enjoy this video.  There is an orange cat on here that is just like one we have.  He is so full of love and anywhere we are at, he is the happiest when he is right there with us.  He doesn't go for the fancy things.  All he wants is the simple things in life like being loved, fed and close to his humans.

Sometimes you just have to follow the lead of cats in life.  Find a warm place in the sunshine and just rest.  This is our two beautiful and loving cats.  The orange cat is Corey and the calico cat is Topanga.  Both are rescue kittens and so full of love!  They are spoiled too!

Sometimes though, they just seem to know when a nice afternoon nap is in order.  I love watching how they just drop out of the world into a very relaxed state of sleep.  This room is one of their favorite places especially when the weather turns chilly.  The afternoon sun comes in here and the bed is positioned just right to give them great access to the sun.

May we all learn a lesson from cats and stop to enjoy life each day, taking a rest when we need it and basking in the sunshine of warmth.

Orange Cat Therapy

Anyone who is a cat lover knows just how awesome cats are! Cats are extremely important to me and most of my life, there has always been a cat around in my life. It is interesting that just last night, I was dreaming about my previous cat. I still miss her.

Fortunately, we have two cats that we got from a rescue agency a few years ago, and they are such a joy to have around the house. Actually, I'm sure if you talked to them, they would say, we are fun to have around the house. I believe they picked us out instead of us finding them at the rescue place.

One of the cats is a girl that is pretty particular about who she shares her attention with in life. When she is in that mode of wanting love or giving love, it is like her heart could melt the meanest person in the world. I still remember when I held Topanga in my hand for the first time. Those eyes looked up at me as if to say, "hi, I'm so glad we finally met."

The Cat Knows

I'm always amazed at our cats for they seem to know what we are going through when sometimes, we don't even fully understand it. Our two cats are very perceptive and I am sure many could say the same thing about their cats. These cats just seem to feel, sense and know what we know but without all the distractions of life.

The other day, I was struggling and not able to focus. Our orange cat, Corey, knew this and was by my side to offer his assistance. His assistance though in amongst the purrs and sharing his love with me was the desire to play.

Even though I didn't really want to be bothered at that moment, I tried to oblige him by playing for a few moments and then letting him be on his own. That was not good enough for Corey and so he would find ways to get my attention and bring me back to a place where we could play. He did this repeatedly until I gave in to his play time.

Yet, I learned that the playtime wasn't really for him. It was his way of helping me get my mind off of some things and just stop for the moment. Corey knew deep down that if I did this, he would help me immensely. Of course, Corey loves to play and he loves to look after his humans but this particular day, he was there to help me out.

Cats are so amazing and I would really be lost without them. I've had a cat most of my life. They are just there when you need them most and it is wonderful to come home and see them meet you at the door or to just have something loving to greet you when you take a break.

We often say that they are "OUR" two cats but I think if you asked our cats about this, they would say, we are their humans that they watch out for and love!
