Waking Up on December 21, 2012

As I am writing this post, I'm thinking about all that is going on these days in the world.  The fears that people are feeling and succumbing to are so great, that they are impacting every breath that is taken.  I find it sad that we live in so much fear in our individual lives that we have numbed ourselves to reality and we have given our control over to everything but what is true within ourselves.

This is why I am writing about waking up on December 21, 2012.  It is not about the beliefs and opinions that many hold of the apocalypse or the Mayans, but of actually waking up in consciousness.  It is about opening the veil we have placed over our own eyes with our long held subconscious beliefs in our life.  It is about removing the old and finding our way into awareness that will lead us to a greater consciousness and truth in our life.

It is too easy for each one of us to sit back and recite mantras and do feel good things that continue the numbing process we live our life by each and every day.  From the doomsayers to the new age movement, the numbing is evident if one just opens their eyes.  The numbing allows the fear to grow and fear allows numbing to grow.  It is easy to point the fingers and say each one of us has it right, while everyone else out there does not.  However, just because that is our belief, it does not mean it is the truth.  It may be nothing more than the illusion we have coaxed ourself into believing.

World Changes And Shifts In 2012

I know there are many books written on this subject, and while I have no way to prove or disprove any of their projected findings, I find myself coming back to this issue over and over.  To me, there are significant changes and shifts happening in our world.  The things that are unseen and to the point of being ahead of our time are beginning to show up.  Of course I don't know anymore than anyone else how the world will change and shift in 2012.

Here are some of the things that I notice and some of these changes and shifts have been going on in the world long before 2012.  I just think they are accelerating.  Please feel free to leave a comment with your perceptions and what you notice.

  1. Days are moving by quickly.   In fact, it feels like the hours, days and weeks just fly by without ever stopping for a break.  Sometimes it feels as if a day or a few days zips on by without notice and I find myself wondering where those days went.  Often for me, the days of the week seem disjointed and they don't match up with reality.  I wonder at times if someone is playing with the clock and calendar trying to mess with my mind, but I honestly believe it is part of a bigger shift taking place in this world.

Finding Happiness In 2012 With A Smile

Finding Happiness
Give A Smiley Project
By the time you see this post, several days will have already went by in 2012.  We will be past the New Year celebrations and after the stress of the holiday season, many will be settling back into the routine of life.  Hopefully you haven't already forgotten about your New Year's resolutions or whatever it is that you focused on as the calendar ticked forward.

As we inch forward in our lives, I hope that each day is a new year of celebrating in our life of what possibilities lie ahead.  It should not just be about one moment in time that we hoop, holler and jump up and down.  It should be something we carry through each and every day.

I wrote an article that was published right before 2012 started.  The title was "Finding Happiness In 2012 With A Smile".  You see, I'm a believer that as we find happiness in our own life, that it will radiate forward and we'll end up sharing it with others.  Most likely we will share it before we even think about it.

One such way of sharing that happiness from our life in the year of 2012 is by offering a smile to others we meet.  There is a movement that is off to a wonderful start called the Give A Smiley Project.  The hope of this movement is that by one smile at a time, we can change the world.

What Would Our World Be Like

What Would Our
World Be Like
As we start 2012, it seems to be a normal time to reflect upon this past year and to begin looking ahead to the next year.  Although you never need to wait until the end of the year to do this, it seems to be an appropriate time.

The question I pose to everyone as I share some of my own thoughts is "what would the world be like if" and then you can fill in the blank.  My aim is for deep perception into our role in our day and how we impact the world immediately around our existence.

So what would the world be like if we all chose to stop each day and find time to relax and travel deep within the mind body connection?  What are the possibilities that could exist and how would this affect our overall physical body, our health, the peacefulness and productiveness of the day in following our life's purpose?  Just stop for a moment and ponder what the potential outcomes could be and see how this impacts your own life.

What Will I Take Into 2012

What Will I Take Into
2012?
Today I was reading a Garfield comic strip in which Garfield was telling Liz all his resolutions for the new year 2012.  Of course after she walked away, he stated that he needed to curb his excessive lying.  As I read that, I realized just how true Garfield's statement was to most people.

Most everyone it seems is worried about setting resolutions that seem great when they do it, but they never fully follow through.  There are the resolutions of exercising and losing weight which probably top the list.  There are the resolutions of spending more time with family, friends and enjoying life.  I'm sure there are plenty of resolutions to earn more money, pay off credit card debt and take a vacation.

Yet, after the first few days, weeks or maybe months, everyone seems to forget all about these things.  The importance of them take a back seat to life while the media makes sensational stories about not following through on our New Year's Resolutions.  We feel bad and we promise mid way through the year to reorient our self with the resolutions we made on New Years.  By the end of the year, we have all but forgotten what these resolutions were.

Apocalypse Island December 21, 2012

Apocalypse Island
12-21-2012
On the History channel the other day I watched a show called Apocalypse Island. While I cannot prove a thing in the show, there was a great deal of information presented with the movie's conclusions. No one knows if anything will happen on December 21, 2012 or if this is much like Howard Camping's predictions about the end of the world on October 21, 2011.

I realize that there are many authors, writers, historians and people following this story. What will be the ultimate truth, is anyone's guess at this moment. While I have personally picked up on events throughout my life, years before I had any concept of the places or circumstances, I do know that determining a date is next to impossible.  Often if we could predict a date, so many things could be avoided in this world.  I wonder though, if date predictions are what the universe is all about?

In the movie, Explorers visit a remote island in the Pacific Ocean where Mayan relics exist. According to various facts and artifacts, the Mayans predicted the end of the world on 12-21-12, the end of a 5000 year calendar.  According to the movie, it was as if the 5000 year calendar was more of a countdown event towards the end of our world.
