Does Twitter Endorse Porn?

This subject really gets under my skin.  It doesn't seem like anything is being done about it and if I try to contact Twitter, I get absolutely no response.  So, I have to conclude that in the absence of action, twitter endorses porn.  They allow it on their site and they do very little to stop it.  That to me, is an endorsement!

I don't intentionally go and follow people who display porn on their timelines.  In fact, when I check them out, I often don't see any porn whatsoever and lo and behold, later the porn pictures start popping up on my twitter feed.

Of course, I know you can report them and block them, but it doesn't do anything to solve the problem.  I have a feeling that twitter (if they actually do anything) comes along and deletes the picture.  The individual just does it again and again, sometimes deleting the images I think so when twitter goes to look, they see nothing.  I may be wrong, but in lieu of proper responses from twitter, how do I know they are actually doing anything about it.

Twitter fails to respond...

You can direct message them or tweet them and they absolutely fail to respond.  You can block these people all day long and it seems like they spring up again and again with the very same pictures you were seeing before.  No one seems to do anything to get rid of it, but hey twitter makes sure you know how to mute people that are annoying.  Never mind that this doesn't solve the issue.


I've had moments where I've been in a public place or on an airplane checking my twitter feed only to have one of these porn pictures displayed.  Its rather embarrassing especially when its the close up shot.  Imagine if a child saw that.  There's no way for me to stop it other than not being on Twitter!

Imagine if we went around all day showing these images in our streets.  What would be the reaction?  Yes, there would be an uproar.  In the case of twitter, its just business as usual.  They just don't care!  Twitter seems to endorse porn, or so it seems.

Twitter sacrifices a society norm...

It almost seems that twitter wants as many users as it can get, so it sacrifices what should be a norm in our society.  We don't need pornographic images forced into our twitter feeds all day and all night.  There's hopefully a much better usage for social media than that, but Twitter has to get serious and do the right thing.

We already have enough problems with human trafficking and child porn and child sexual abuse.  We already have enough problems with scammers.  Why is it then that Twitter does not do anymore than they do in this area of porn.  That is why I feel Twitter endorses porn!
 

Sure, you can set your settings to not see all of that, but it still shows up.  I cringe at the thought of a young child looking at twitter.  These are images they do not need to see.  It is wrong in every sense of the word.

Maybe if Twitter wanted to be a serious competitor to Facebook and other social media sites, it might consider cleaning up its own house first.  Maybe by having a "quality" system, they could be better than they are today.  Yet, it seems their main focus is on how many people you can follow in a specific undocumented time frame, rather than keeping the porn off of the news feed.

I believe we can do better with social media.  I think this platform has potential, but it is often saturated with too much that does very little good for anyone's day.  We can do better on social media!

The Jail We Live In

So on a conference call with Christie Marie Sheldon today, a topic that came up was one that kind of made me sit up and think.  The call was about unlimited abundance.  She was sharing how we build the jail that we live in and that keeps us living in a world that really is not meant for us.  So, why don't we let ourselves out of the jail we have built for our life?

I don't know about other people, but if I stop and think about that in my own life, I can see how I have many jails that I live in.  I have built them up through all the hurts, pains, stresses, and abuse I've endured.  Some of the parts of the jail I have really fortified more than others.

Maybe its not always easy for us to take a look at and clearly see just how much of a jail we have built for our life.  Yet, its all too easy to go through life thinking that this person or that one, this situation or another, this group or government is holding us back.  They are the ones that are responsible for our lot in life we exclaim.

Yet, it isn't those other people or groups or places or things that are responsible.  It is our own doing.  We create our life one step at a time, one steel bar at a time, one cement block at a time and one day at a time.  We create our life through our actions and thoughts and our shortcomings we focus on.  We create our life and the jail we live in by how we deal with all that has taken place.

Maybe we aren't one that complains and blames others, but yet we don't live our life because we feel we "HAVE TO" have the job we have, the house we have or the life we have.  We feel that we are locked into a life that we have little choice, because what would happen if we gave all of that up and let it go?  We too have built our own jail, even if it is a different jail.

Maybe we are a person that just doesn't see our life as enough or our self as enough.  We see through the cloudy dirty lenses of being less than and everyone else having it much easier or they are more talented or more gifted.  We see our shortcomings as if they are monstrous mountains before us, when they are just from the microscopes we peer through.  We have built our own jail that we live in by not seeing ourselves as all that we are.

I know, its not easy finding our way through life and we often carry so much baggage with us from days and years gone by.  The unfortunate thing though is that we are creating the jail we live in.  We are and have created the life that we currently know.

It isn't too late, because as Christie Marie Sheldon explained today, we can choose to let that go and unlock the door of our jail in our life.  We can make the choice to step out of the jail and into the life that is ours.  It is the life that we are meant to live, not the one that we have confined ourselves to for all the days of our life.

The more we lock ourselves up in the jail we have built for our life, the more we block the flow of all that is good coming into our life.  This includes unlimited abundance which is what Christie Marie Sheldon was sharing.

We Block Our Abundance

For the first time in my life, I think I'm getting it!  After years and years of fighting to understand abundance, I think I'm beginning to get a glimpse of what it truly is all about in life.  Now, I'm not sitting here and saying I know all there is and my life is all perfect at this moment, but I've come a long ways.

I'm really beginning to learn that we block our abundance in so many ways.  It really is "us" who gets in the way of all that we are part of in this big universe.  Yes, I know that this may sound way too simple and almost like someone who doesn't understand would state as fact.  I'm here to tell you though, that this is exactly what I have been learning.

It isn't the government, or places of business or families, friends, churches or the evil in this world that stops us from connecting with the true source of our life.  It isn't all the people who have done us wrong in life or the obstacles we think are in our way.  It is not the sun, moon, stars, or some fallen energetic force that stands in our way.  Let me state this again that we block our abundance.
