Ringing Phone And Angel Numbers Dreams

Ringing Phone And Angel Numbers Dreams
Last night I had one of those "strange and unusual" moments while I was sleeping.  For a more accurate description, I could call it a dream, but I'm not 100% sure that fits in this case.  While I know I was in a dream state, it feels like I was awake in that moment.  It gets difficult to tell the awake moments between the dream moments at times for me.

The dream actually startled me out of bed with a ringing phone sound.  It was not a sound of any phone that we have in the house, but it was clearly a digital phone ringing sound.  I noticed that no one in the house heard it but me.  It was enough though to startle me out of a deep sleep and I could have sworn it was just as real as an actual phone ringing.

The next thing I remember is that I had someone whispering into my ear to look at the time on the clock.  So, I kind of haphazardly looked at the time and thought okay, be quiet and leave me alone (to whoever was whispering in my ear).  Just let me go back to sleep.  Once again though, they told me to look at the clock.  This time, instead of seeing 2:58 am, I saw 2:59 am.  I'm thinking at this moment, so what?  Why is this even important for me.  Just let me go back to sleep.

Never Cease To Dream

We should never cease to dream, or fail to live our dreams. For through the dreams, we open ourselves up to all that is possible. By opening ourselves up, we find that which excites us. Honoring that which excites us moves us to action. It is at that point, where we truly find our feet on our path. (Pg 75, Hope And Possibility Through Trauma by Don Shetterly)

Phantom Doorbell Ringing And Nightmare Dreams

Ugh, last night sucked.  It really did.  Not once, but twice I get awakened to the doorbell ringing in my sleep.  The only thing is, the doorbell actually didn't ring. You could not have convinced me of this last night except for others in the house not hearing a thing.  So once again, the phantom doorbell rings in my sleep and in my dreams.  On this particular night, the doorbell rang and woke me up twice during the night.

For some reason, it seems like my bad and scary nightmare dreams tend to happen in the 4 am hour.  Last night was no exception.  Yet, when I was awakened the first time by the doorbell, I felt so frightened, scared and as if something was in the house watching me.  It isn't the first time I have felt that way and these frightening dream states tend to be less frequent then they once were.  However, it seems like I cannot escape them.

It was around midnight in my dream when the event happened although the actual time was around 4 am.  Since it was night time, most of the houses around us were dark, except for ours.  We had the usual lights on and in this dream, instead of having a solid front door, we had a full length glass door.  When the doorbell rang, I went to the door and had nothing on but a t-shirt and boxers.  I would never answer the door dressed like this, but in my dream I did.

Why Do I Worry?

If I spend 99% of my time in worry, I will have very little time left to make things happen.

I will end up exhausted and staring into space rather than moving myself forward.

So, why do I worry? What does it profit me?

What do I gain from spending more of my time doing something that gets me nowhere rather than using that time to propel me into my dreams?

What Moves Us To Action

What moves us to action? Is it our fears, our longings, our passions or desires? Could it be that others are responsible for moving us to action. Maybe it is an event, a person or some place that we travel to, that prompts us to do something.

There are times that it is hard to explain but we know deep down inside of us, that it is something we must do. We feel it in ways that it is clearly evident to us. Often times, we feel as if we stand alone as we prepare to take action, all the time knowing, we must do this.

It is often scary and unknown. There is usually no road map or a detailed list to guide our way. Soemtimes, even the objective is unclear at the moment we start. For us to look forward, it can be unimaginable how far this path of action will lead us.

While it can be easy to feel discouraged by the fear and worry of the unknown, we must remember to stay in the moment of now. We may not see how individual and unconnected points fit together as they come by. It may be sometime before we can view how all parts of our life moments fit together into a beautiful story.

We should never cease to dream or fail to live our dreams. For through the dreams, we open ourselves up to all that is possible. By opening ourselves up, we find that which excites us. Honoring that which excites us, moves us to action. It is at that point, where we truly find our feet on our path.

The Universe

What if you did have the power, the reach, and the glory?

What if you were given dominion over all things?

And what if eternity lay before you, brimming with love, friends, and laughter?

Yet still, one day, in all your radiance, bubbling over with giddy excitement, you tripped, fell, and got hurt - really hurt.

Would you give up on all of your dreams? Would you hate yourself? Would you forget life's magic and promise?

Or would you shrug it off, look ahead, and exclaim that it's "just a flesh wound"?

Dream Your Problems Away

In a recent study, researcher from the University of California, Dr. Sara Mednick found that people improved their problem solving ability when they took a nap between the morning and afternoon that included a period of REM sleep. For those participants that just rested but did not have REM sleep, there was little change in their problem solving abilities.

REM sleep is also known as a period of deep sleep where there is literally rapid eye movement. Typically, it occurs about 90-120 minutes of the total sleep in a night for most humans.

According to Dr. Mednick, creative problem solving that uses dreams usually is not successful at first. However when the person makes the decision to let go of the problem and does not consciously try to solve it, the solution to the problem comes to the person's consciousness in a dream that is recognized upon awakening.

The neocortex of the brain is the part of the brain associated with thinking. When this part of the brain is free to integrate fresh information, it is then that the solutions are realized. It is expecially important for people such as artists, musicians, and scientists whose daily work is matched closely to the function of the neocortex in the brain where new connections of familiar information is made.

Many famous inventors throughout time have had the creative information come to them through dreams.

I remember one particular time in my own life where I had fought for about two days to fix an email problem on a computer system. My time was running short because I was supposed to get on an airplane the next day. As the end of the day neared, I had no idea at that moment of how to fix the problem. That night, I went back to my hotel and just decided to relax and let the problem go for the evening. Going to bed, I fell asleep and felt very rested the next morning. When I got to the site to begin working on the problem, what seemed like a mystery the day before all of the sudden seemed to fit into place. It took less than 30 minutes to fix the problem that I had wrestled with for two days.

For a long period of my life, I did not allow myself to dream at night because what kept coming up was like a horror movie times a thousand. These events were too rough for me to deal with and so I just shut down the dreaming at night. As time has gone, I have started to dream again. Or maybe I should be more correct in that I remember more of my dreams. The dreaming was probably always there but not where I could even recognize it. Now, my dreams are usually vivid in many ways and often times I do remember them.

I've always heard that naps are good but never paid it that much attention. We have our children take naps every day. Yet, we as adults discard this practice because it does not fit in with our many tasks that we need to accomplish in our day. However, we might be more productive and more centered in our day if we took time out to take a nap or find ways to relax.

Maybe it is like the commercial on TV that says "milk does a body good". Instead of milk - we should say "a nap does a body good".

Let us focus in this year on our dreams, our aspirations, our hopes and our purpose. As we focus, allow our attention to turn towards one thing we can begin doing today to move us closer to all that we want for our lives.
