The Big Picture

The Big Picture
I am disheartened when I see people operating from a very narrow focus and view point in life.  It seems to be so easy these days to miss the big picture while hiding in a world of fantasy.  When we focus on the small and insignificant battles of our day, we easily lose site of the big picture.

The big picture is more about humanity and how we can help one another achieve more.  In achieving more, we have the opportunity to help push this world and the inhabitants within to be more than they ever thought they could.

Holding on to paradigms of old, just because they are safe and familiar to us, will only hold us back from the big picture.  Questioning these things from an objective view point through the eyes of the observer, is the way to really see how strong of foundation our paradigms have.

In many ways, if you are not evolving your ideas and beliefs, then you are stagnant in the growth of human consciousness.  There is no way that you will know today, what it is that tomorrow holds, unless you set sail in the sea of possibility and knowledge.

When Healers Miss The Big Picture

Every new age spiritual enlightened person out there most likely would easily agree that healing does not come from humans.  It comes from a power greater than ourselves.  Each one might have a different name or terminology for what brings forth healing, but I'm almost certain that everyone agree it does not come from any particular individual.

Of course, when you look at many modalities, healing practices and organizations, anything but what I just wrote becomes the truth.  Usually no one will admit it or even acknowledge that it happens within them or their group.  There is a blind eye that is turned towards the truth.  Although it remains an unspoken thing within individuals and groups, it is present.

All too often in the bodywork field we build up organizations and put certification procedures in place.  While that may sound like a worthwhile cause and justifiable at the time of its creation, it often comes from a place that is not as pure and conscious as the individual would hope that it does. It may start out with good intentions, but at some point it degrades into the human ego making decisions and forming committees to take care of man-made issues that arise.

At some point an organization or individual may realize that in order to validate the healing work that they do, procedures need to be put in place.  In many ways this is admirable, but more often than not this process goes awry.  Soon humans are evaluating other humans and passing judgements based upon factors outside of their consciousness.  As time goes, more procedures are put in place to help balance the process out, but of course they are made up by individuals who are judging what needs to happen.  At the end of the day, more committees and procedures reflect very little, how the initial process that begun with the healing modality.

Seeing The Bigger Picture

Topanga Seeing The
Big Picture
I am often amazed at how many inhabitants of this world fail to see the bigger picture of life.  Whether it is through a news article in the media, a post I write, someone shopping in a store, or in a job, the big picture seems to be forgotten.  It seems that we as humans get so fixated on our one moment of our day, that we can't see two minutes in front of us, let alone the big picture.

When I write in this blog, it is more about sharing my experiences in life in a raw format to help get others to think and open up in their own life.  My entire thought process is that by using my life as an example, I can help others open up more fully to their life.  Sometimes knowing that someone else has walked in those shoes is what gives us the courage to investigate our own paths.

Yet, I get emails from people thinking that because of some blog post I wrote, they need to help me fix some part of myself.  I'm not talking about someone being supportive, but some of these emails are people really trying to tell me what I should do differently in life.  It always amazes me because they are not seeing the big picture.

Supermoon, Oceans and Nature

Most likely everyone has heard about the supermoon which is ocuring this evening as I write this blog post. The supermoon is the moon that looks like it is much closer because it is actually traveling as close as it will get to the earth in its orbit for the next 18 years. Since it is also a full moon, it is expected to raise the tides all over the earth. Some say, it will have a significant impact upon the earth and while I have no way to agree or disagree with that, it will be interesting to see if there are any events that coincide with the supermoon. Many would just attribute this to folklore.

I'm always amazed at the systems in space and how they may or may not impact us as humans. Just to gaze at something that is only about 221,566 miles seems awe inspiring to me. I would love to be able to go and travel to the moon and actually step a foot on to it. If there is ever a wow factor in life, the moon and the planets or stars of the solar system would be one of those for me.

Coming back to earth though, I spent time at the ocean today just picking up seashells while dipping my feet in the 60 degree, cool ocean water. Seeing the ocean, hearing the roar of the waves, watching the sea gulls fly and being caught up in the moment of looking for seashells, the world around me seemed pretty small. Much like looking at the moon so many miles away, the earth seemed almost insignificant.

As we ended the day at the ocean, we spent time observing the birds and butterflies all around us. It was a beautiful site and once again, took me miles away from the world and all its troubles and problems.

There is no greater joy, no greater meditation and no better way to just be in the moment than to gaze at the sky, bask in the ocean and observe nature. If you want to let go of things that are bothering you, find your place in nature. Let nature revive you, ground you and help you find what it is that you need in this very moment.

Nature and the ocean and the moon are much bigger than anything we are experiencing. They remind us that we can transcend all that we are going through, if even for a moment. They remind us that we are part of something bigger and that we are all connected.

Puzzle Pieces Of Life

Sometimes it is hard to see in the moment, exactly why the pieces of life appear as they do. It is so easy to want to play Monday morning quarterback and claim we know what is best for us. We feel it is makes life much easier.

However, the more we go in and try to manipulate the puzzle pieces of life, the more we delay getting the image to appear. We often worry and fret about how things are going and what pieces of the puzzle we should play. When, in all reality it does not matter.

The pieces of the puzzle of our life fit together in an exact way. They are not interchangeable. There are none that are missing. All are properly cut and shaped to fit into the puzzle as they are meant to. So as much as we may try to force a piece into a spot for which it does not belong, we have to realize there is one spot for each piece.

Allowing the puzzle of our life to unfold and come together will give us the opportunity to see the bigger picture. We do not need to fight it. It will show up as we place the pieces together. If it looks like a piece does not fit at that particular moment, all is fine. The piece will have an opportunity to fit into the puzzle when the timing is right.

All we need to do in our lives is show up and be present. Follow our hearts as we become more consciously aware of who we are as current puzzle pieces and how we fit together. Allowing our life to unfold in the manner it needs to, will give us the complete picture. It will happen in the moment that is meant to be.

All is well, All is well
Don't worry about your life
It is unfolding as planned.
Follow you heart and life will unfold
Each moment is but a step forward
All is well, All is well
Don't worry about your life
It is unfolding as planned.
