For those who struggle, it is a nightmare.  For those who have had their lives torn apart because a loved one committed suicide, the pain continues.  The questions continue.  Suicide of a loved one often destroys the lives of those left behind.

Phantom Knock At The Door

This morning, I was awakened by a sound that seemed very real.  While I know I was sleeping sound and dreaming, I was not aware of what I was dreaming about.  Yet, I heard the phantom knock at the door.  In fact, it sounded so real and I got up to see what was going on.

I did not go to the door and open it, but it really felt like someone had knocked at the door.  My friend in the house did not hear the same thing, so I'm beginning to suspect it is like the phantom doorbell ringing and phone that I have heard in the past.

The knock at the door was not loud, but it was three distinct and firm knocks.  It wasn't like they startled me out of bed, but it was enough for me to take note of and know that someone was trying to get my attention.  I did not feel anxious or worried.  In fact, I think I found myself thinking, what is it you are trying to tell me, I don't understand.

I will pay close attention to what takes place in the hours and days ahead.  I do not know why I heard the phantom knock at the door, but I know I heard it.  There is a reason I believe.  For some  reason though when I hear these phantom sounds, I never physically go and open the door or pick up the phone.  It is like deep down I know there is not someone actually there in real life, but yet I know there is some purpose and message for me.

Ahhhh, the mysteries of life and my day that evade me.
