Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?

I wish I knew the answer to the question of this blog post.  If you came here for the ultimate answer to this question, you might feel let down.  I'm not sure if anyone can answer the question, Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?"

It would be good if we could answer that because it would make life in this world so much easier to understand.  We wouldn't have people walking around in a daze for months and years, trying to make sense of all that there is.  Maybe people could heal and move on in their lives more easily if we all knew and understood the answer to why do bad things happen to good people.

Some may explain it with one way or another and that might work for them as individuals, but it most likely would not work for everyone.  Even though your answer for yourself makes you feel better, if it isn't replicated to all humans, does it truly work.  Of course, I realize that sometimes we need to put a soothing balm on an open wound to help ease the pain.  It doesn't mean that this soothing balm is what heals though.

When I hear bad news of bad things happening to good people, I go into that mode of not understanding why.  I become angry that there are so many evil and horrible people in the world and why can't they die first?  Why can't the bad things happen to them.

After all, the good people are trying to make a difference in the world.  They are putting their hearts full of love in practice and really doing something positive.  Unlike the evil and horrible people, they appear to only be making the world a more miserable place to live.

When I hear news of bad things happening to good people, I think of a list of many people that could be in their place.  These people are plentiful it seems and if they are inflicting pain upon others, why can't they be the ones to experience the bad things and leave this world first?

It is difficult to fully understand this.  My mind is too human to comprehend.  There are no words that can share my anguish of the news that I have received lately.  I feel helpless.  I feel lost as to what I can do to help.

Why do bad things happen to good people?  Maybe we'll never know in this lifetime.  Maybe there is more going on that we can't see.  I have no answers.  I only have questions that I keep searching for answers to complete.
