End Of Illness With Asprin

Last night on the daily show with Jon Stewart, I heard an author talk about his book "The End Of Illness".  In the segment that aired on the Daily Show, he hypothesized that the root of all illness was inflammation within the body.  This inflammation if left unchecked would lead to all kinds of health conditions including cancer, muscle inflammation, the heart and others I cannot recall at this moment.

While I completely agree with him that we need to do much more prevention than treatment in this country, I could not help but question some of his conclusions.  It is important to note that I have not read his book, only have I seen his interview with Jon Stewart.  There may be much more data and evidence in his book for his hypothesis, and I want to make it clear that I have not seen this yet.  You are more than free to get his book and draw your own conclusions.

My main concern though is while aspirin may help alleviate some health conditions, it is still not getting to the root cause of the problem.  Just to alleviate a symptom which leads to further illness is not a solution in my mind.  It is only a temporary fix.  I do realize studies have been done and doctors do recommend the daily aspirin regimen.

I live in a world where these conditions are a result of something else going on in the mind, body or spirit.  It is a deeper issue that arises and needs to be dealt with, rather than adding a temporary fix purported to be a cure.  All too often, we fail to go within our mind, body and spirit to find what is truly going on and we settle for the quick fix that seems like the cure.

Again, I'm not going to claim I have all the answers either, but we would do ourselves so much good if we would go deep within and get to know every part of the body we inhabit.  The body is not separate from the mind or the spirit.  They are one and when one suffers, they all suffer.  Yes, it is easier to just look for the quick fix, but in the end, it has not solved the problem in my opinion.

I'm not here to tell you to stop taking any medication or try one form of treatment over another.  All I want is for people to open up their minds, step outside of their paradigms and really discover who they are.  Get to know your innermost self and evolve yourself in awareness and consciousness.  There is so much more than we currently know and the only thing holding us back is our self and our beliefs.
