What the vast majority of us know about nutrition would probably not hold up to a large scale scrutiny through a scientific research study. We all think we know what we need to eat. We all think that what we've been told through the media and much of our education is gospel truth.
Unfortunately, we don't know as much about food and the body as we think we do. Pat yourself on the back if you think you're an exception, but most likely you're not. If you buy into most of the modern day paradigms, let me sell you some moon water while you're thinking about that one.
Too much of what we were taught really wasn't what we needed to know. No sense in blaming our parents or schools or society for what we were taught. It isn't going to get you very far. So, feel free to stretch your limits and your own paradigms. Time to re-educate yourself.
What happens now in life though is up to each one of us. We can continue to go down the same path that we have all our life or we can begin to evaluate and choose different things for our lives. It is really up to us.
Listening to what you think you know or have been taught can be pretty dangerous. Challenging it can be very eye opening. For me, I plan to explore the new stuff I'm learning and see what applies and what doesn't. I'm not in to following everyone's beliefs and opinions, just because they get exclaimed louder.
I just know that certain food makes me feel good and other foods I'm finding aren't what they are claimed to be. It truly is sad how we desecrate our food and water supply. We do this blindly and one of these days, we will no longer be able to ignore what we do. As I grow and learn, I'll try to share some tidbits here and there.
