Truly Connecting With People

There is a way to interact with other people.  All too often, we just go through our day sharing our likes and happy slogans online and in everyday life.  Unfortunately in those moments, we are not truly connecting with people.  We are just talking at or to people.

A long time ago, I learned that in order to truly connect with people who needed help and were hurting, preaching to them or telling them what they should do added very little to their life.

In fact, it often turned them away and hurt them to the core.  I see this happening so much in the world.  We are all too quick to tell others what they should do instead of really offering them a hand to hold and a ear to listen.

Do you really want to know how to truly connect with other people?  Begin by sharing yourself and your journey.  Share your pains and struggles.  Share your ah ha moments that changed your life in ways you could never imagine.  Share the rocks you stumbled over in your path and how you managed to crawl up out of the hole after being weary and bruised to the bone.

Quote on Consciousness

Consciousness isn't a platitude.  It isn't a thought or concept.  It is not something you try to convince the world you have.  Consciousness is a state of mind that is ever-changing and evolving each moment of the day.

Ask The Question

And we are taught that when we ask the question, we wait for the answer and listen to the answer because it will appear. You may not see it directly or you may, but it will show up if you allow it.

Disapproving People

Its the way people look at you.  Its the way they don't look at you.  Its the way people talk to you.  Its the way people give you the silent treatment.  You know, the unspoken terms.  The unspoken looks and words and voices.  They are all from disapproving people.

Growing up, there were sounds uttered, looks exchanged and bible verses spouted.  There were words uttered and the eye rolls.  There were phrases that had perfectly good words, but they were meant as a sword.  They were from disapproving people.

And then, there was those silent moments.  The ones where you knew they disapproved.  The ones where they were disappointed in you.  The ones that were the eye stares, or just the turning away of their head.  The moments where they acted as if you didn't exist, if you weren't standing right there before them.  The many silent moments and lack of connection from disapproving people.

Group Think

I'm always amazed at humans and society.  We know how to bring others into line with group think.  Sure, you can say what you want and we have a freedom (at least in this country) to say what we want, but if it goes against group think, there will be heck to pay.  It may be in politics or religions or in the job, community, or family.

Before you think that you don't participate in this, try saying something in your circle of people that goes against what they think or believe.  See how far you get before you get the rolling of the eyes, the clicking of the shocked faces or the silence of the key people.  See how long it takes before you notice how people look at you differently or out of disbelief.  See how long it takes before they gang up and smack you down?  Even in the groups that say they don't do this!

We have so many ways that we keep our circle in life within our means of what we want to hear, believe, speak, or think.  It happens every day.  Virtually no one is immune or able to hold this off.

In jobs, they want the best and the brightest, but when it comes to a differing opinion, they often want you to not share that with the boss.  After all, he/she doesn't understand what you all do, so it is far easier to just keep it between you and your immediate group and not rock the boat.

A Dream I Have

Sometimes this blog is just a personal journal space for me.  Maybe these posts that I write which are more personal, connect with others and maybe they don't.  If they don't connect with you, feel free to stop back tomorrow for something different.

I have a dream.  Yes, I do.  It may be nothing more than a dream at this moment, but its my dream.  Ever since I was a little kid, I always loved being in a car going down the highways and seeing all there was to see.  There was never a shortage of trees and hills and roads and everything in-between.

I love all of it and to me there is nothing like peace and freedom getting out on the road for a road trip.  On top of that, I love to take pictures.  The pictures help connect me to the moments of joy that I find when I travel.

I'm So Angry

There are too many events as I write this over the past several months that really get to me.  I'm angry at so much that I think I could spit bullets out of my eyes.  While that may be a weird thought, it is how I feel in this moment.  I can't help it.  It is just what is.

Now, some may be rolling their eyes at me and some have already probably clicked close.  No one wants to read or hear about the rough times.  They want it all to just be peachy and happy and lucky and ducky.  Great...  if this is too much for you, please feel free to click close.  No harm in doing that and it won't shatter my world either.

The thing is, anger is a valid emotion Its a valid feeling.  You can't wish it away with your thoughts because it resides in the neural pathways of your mind and the cells of your body.  You might think you can just focus on changing your thoughts and it all goes away, but I'm sorry, I don't agree with your logic.

Relaxing Music Video Under The Palm Trees

A little different sounding video, but one that I still love.  It is called "Relaxing Music - Under The Palm Trees".  It was recorded back in 2007 at John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo and set to some music I created.  If nothing else, just sit back and enjoy the short one minute video.  Happy relaxing!

Ways We Numb The Body Quote

Often when we are numb to the body, it is not out of consciousness, but an unconscious pattern that has engulfed us.

Willing To Be Aware

The more you are willing to just let the world be something you’re aware of, the more it will let you be who you are— the awareness, the Self, the Atman, the Soul.

Relaxing In The Best Moment Of The Day

The actors are all there.  The players often show up one by one.  Its that time of day.  A coolness of temperature exists.  A brightness of light shines through.  It is one of my favorite times of the day.  It is a time of relaxing in the best moment of the day.

During the morning from around the 8 am to 9 am time frame, I love lying in my hammock and relaxing.  It is my time of the day especially during the summer.  The coolness of the air as the wind drifts gently around me and the newness of the morning air are so refreshing.

The sun is breaking through strongly into the trees as a shadow behind the house.  The leaves on the trees glisten and change with brightness of color as the wind nudges them one way or another.  It feels like a lighter time of day.  It feels like a moment where all my cares are not in view.

Watching the birds fly around and play and chase one another is like one of the best unscripted movies I watch.  Some sit on the high wires basking in the sun.  Other birds chase each other zooming and zipping through the trees.  Their different colors emanate against the background of the green trees and blue sky.

Bless The Misguided New Age People

I know, if you're a new age person, you might not agree with me on this.  So, I'll keep it respectful and thoughtful, but there is a point I want to make and its important.  Bless the misguided new age people for they don't fully understand what it is they do and say.

Now, before you get all up in arms with me, please know that this isn't every new age person.  Although, the numbers it effects are many.  If it makes you uncomfortable, you're free to stop reading.  If not, please continue.  You can always leave a comment at the end of the blog post one way or the other.

There is just too much thought out there that "everything" is bad for you.  If it isn't food, it is thoughts.  If it isn't thoughts, it is what you say.  If it isn't what you say, than it is entities and things watching you and a whole host of things that would take me forever to state here.

The key is, not everything is BAD!  While some things may not be as healthy or good for you, to view the world through the eyes where things are "BAD" or "EVIL" or "SHAMEFUL" is really sad in my view.  If you don't think you do this, then you may want to record yourself for a day and review it.

Give It Up For Food Based Healing

Did you know that the best medicine chest is the one stocked with whole foods?  I say, Give It Up for Food Based Healing!  In starring roles, we have all the fresh vegetables and fruits and herbs.  If you want to impact your life, then this information is for you.  If you don't, no need to bother reading it.  Sorry, if that sounds harsh, but it really is not.

Too many think that some frozen and processed veggies or a small bowl of lettuce is eating healthy.  Hey, at one time I thought that way too, but now I know different.  Sure, you can assay the food and see that there is this vitamin and that vitamin or mineral.  Unfortunately, when you process the food, you destroy the enzymes and the phytochemicals by breaking down the chemical bonds.

Growing up, we had a big garden.  I remember having to go out and weed that thing every day.  I hated it as a kid.  We didn't use weed killer.  We used our own hands to pull the weeds out.  While it was a lot of work every year, I didn't realize just how good we had it.  For a long time, I didn't realize you bought most of your vegetables from the store.  I thought all vegetables came from the garden.

In the 1 day intensive on Conquering Any Disease through Food Based Healing, we learned a lot.  In fact, there was so much information presented, my head is still spinning.  There is so much I could share here, but the main thing is, the majority of us are not eating the foods we should be.  We are definitely eating the things that aren't helpful to us as humans.

Take The Disconnect Challenge

Yes, I know that we're dependent upon these electronic devices permanently affixed between our thumbs.  We go through our day so attached as if every breath depends upon the latest Facebook post, Tweet, Snapchat or Instagram posted.

I'm just wondering these days if we can actually put the phone down.  Can we stop for 30 minutes or even for a meal?  Can we stop and wait in a line without doing it?

I'm just as guilty of this as everyone else.  The smart phone has changed the habits of the world. Don't believe me?  Just take a moment to look up from your smartphone and see!

So will you take the disconnect challenge?  Disconnect from your phone at some point during the day.  Maybe for you it is during a meal.  Possibly it is during a favorite TV show you like.  Maybe it is while you wait in line at the store.

True

That which we know to be true, may not actually be true.  If we cling to that which we think is true, we may be missing something much better for our life.  Let us yearn to open our eyes and discover what really is true, even allowing truth to change as the moments go by.

Something Was Actually Happening

One of the things that was extremely difficult for me when I was in the thick of my healing, was seeing that something was actually happening and that I was moving forward.  Often when we are in the middle of a major change in our lives, we cannot always see what is going on.

Child Abuse Is Most Costly Health Issue

In Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk's book, The Body Keeps The Score", he discusses the ACE study.  If you're not aware of the ACE study, it helps correlate the cause and effect between Child Abuse and the number of health issues these people will face.  I may be paraphrasing this a little too much, but just do a google search on the ACE study and you'll see what I mean.

According to Robert Anda, he realized that through the ACE study, the gravest and most costly public healthy issue in the US is child abuse.  Overall, his calculations showed that the health costs far exceeded those of cancer or heart disease.  If we could eradicate child abuse in the US, we would reduce the overall rate of depression by more than half, alcoholism by two-thirds, and suicide, IV drug use, and domestic violence by three quarters.

Think about this for a minute.  How much care and attention do we really give to child abuse?  Yes, we get worked up when we see Oprah do a story on 200 Male Survivors.  Yes, we give lip service to how horrible it is.  Yes, we think it all just exists only in the Catholic church.  Yet, do we really do much more than that?

I Felt The Abundance Shift

I can't believe what I just experienced in this free webinar.  I'm used to working through meditations and energy clearings, but this was profound tonight.  Some of it is personal and I don't wish to share it publicly, but I've got a feeling, you'll see it as the weeks and months ahead begin to unfold.

I felt the abundance shift as Christie Marie Sheldon was going through the energy clearing in the free webinar tonight.  I'm not making it up.  I'm not being woo woo.  I'm not being weird.  It happened.  I felt it.  At one point, my tears started to flow and it was then that I knew I connected with something profound.  Yes, there was an event from many years ago that kept coming up in my consciousness.  Again, its too personal at the moment to share.

Unlimited Abundance Webinar Reminder

Hopefully you have had a chance to read my earlier blog post.  Hopefully you don't miss signing up for the free webinar that Mind Valley is hosting.  It was posted on August 3 and titled Unlimited Abundance Live with Christie Marie Sheldon.  Every time I have listened to one of these webinars, I've come away with something new that I learned.

The Unlimited Abundance Live Event sounds like a much more in-depth program then I did as self-study.  There are more details which I don't think I'm allowed to share at this moment, but if you tune into the Free Webinar, you will know as much as I know.

Of course, there is no obligation to sign up for anything after that.  You can just listen to it and choose what you want to do.  So, please don't hesitate to sign up for the webinar, thinking that you're going to be strong-armed into buying anything.

Sometimes We Need A New Path

If you find yourself walking down a path that seems to be going nowhere, maybe its time to change direction.  Maybe, it is one of those times when we need to find a new route.

If you see signs ahead that indicate your route is closed, maybe a new path is what is needed.  Maybe it is time for a new direction.  You do know that you don't have to keep going down that path.

Its all a choice in life that we make every day.  Just because we chose a path for yesterday, does not mean we need to continue it today.  Today is a blank slate and in the end, sometimes we just need a new path.

We Stand In Our Own Way

When we stand in the way of all that is before us and we question why it is that we lack what we so need, is it any wonder that we struggle?  If we are the ones standing in our own way, would it not be the best solution to get out of our own way?

Opening Your Heart By Not Closing

You practice opening by not closing. Any time you start to close, ask yourself whether you really want to cut off the energy flow. Because if you want, you can learn to stay open no matter what happens in this world.

Abundance Is About Transformation

Abundance is about personal transformation and growth.  It isn't a get rich quick scheme or walking up to an ATM and requesting money.  It is more than that.  It is much more than that.  When you embark upon the unlimited abundance journey, you will be changing and transforming your life, much like I have.

Protecting Myself From Others

These days I'm in a place where I'm having to be on guard.  I'm having to protect myself from others even though they aren't physically trying to assault me.  Now, this may sound strange, but if I go on to explain, you'll see why I'm protecting myself from others.

I'm one of those highly sensitive people, I take in so much from everyone around me.  It hits me and it bombards me.  It isn't something I choose, it just happens.

Let me explain it this way.  If you go swimming in the lake, can you do it without getting wet?  The answer is no, unless you wear some type of clothing that keeps you dry.  Yet, when you go into the lake, the water is all around you.  You don't choose for it to be there and neither can you control it in the way that it touches your body.

The same goes for me.  When I'm around others and in environments that are toxic and not healthy, it isn't like I can keep it from touching me.  Its all around me.  It touches me whether I want it to or not.

Work Until You Drop

In this country, we don't seem to know how to take good care of ourselves.  We end up working in jobs that force you to work until you literally drop.  If someone has a heart attack or gets sick or has back issues, we just tell them to go to the doctor and take some pills.  Then when they come back to work, we expect them to carry on as if nothing happened.

We're programmed in this country to act like robots.  We don't truly care if someone has a good quality of life.  After all to most companies and corporations, that doesn't compute into the bottom line.  Yes, we have slogans and we say we care and we write some nice things, but in the end, it is either kill yourself in a job, or get run over.

I wish we could honor and respect the human existence.  Of course, when people are dead to what truly matters, this is probably asking too much.  An occasional two second break here and there isn't going to solve the problem.  We need to change the entire mindset of what is expected in a work place.

We need to begin honoring people and respecting people as individuals.  We need to see that they are humans.  If the bottom line of profit is all that matters, then one of these days the foundation of your enterprise will crumble.  You can't break the backs of your workers and expect them to give more.

I see this in so many out there and it really angers me.  The human body and mind were not built to work until you drop.  It is causing great issues in the world of health for most people and until we wake up, we're only dooming ourselves to horror, pain, and death.

We Need To Talk About Suicide

We live in a world where we want to ignore the painful and difficult topics.  We live in a world where we don't want to utter those negative words and bad thoughts.  We live in a world where suicide is nothing but a taboo subject.

In some places if you even come close to admitting your suicidal, by law certain professional groups are required to report you.  Then, they put you in a mental ward of a hospital to hopefully get treatment.  The thing is from what I know from ones that this happened too, there is no treatment.  If you consider drugging someone to keep them alive treatment, okay - but I just don't see that as treatment.

Suicide is real.  It happens all too often.  It shocks the survivors and leaves them standing in disbelief.  No one can comprehend what happened.  Everyone feels sad and as if there was something they should have done, seen, or helped intervene with that person.  Suicide sucks.  Suicide is a horrible nightmare.

I know first hand because I've tried too many times.  Fortunately I was never successful and there was always a friend, an angel, or some other event that stopped it.  In those moments, I didn't care about living.  I didn't care about anyone who would be sad if I was gone.  I could not care.   The pain was greater than most will ever know or understand.

Unlimited Abundance Live Event with Christie Marie Sheldon

Its hard to imagine that it has been several years now since I was struggling so hard to make it in life.  Abundance was just one of those concepts that I heard in new age circles, but it was like a ghost for me in my own life - elusive!  I struggled hard to just make it through a day without having anxiety attacks every time I attempted to pay the bills.

Times were pretty rough.  I was trying to be something I wasn't ready for and I was fighting all the things that I didn't think fit into my life.  Life was one difficult moment after another and that's before we even talk about my finances.  I look back and I don't know how I made it through those days.  I honestly don't.

If you go back to some of my earlier blog posts, you can see just how much things have changed for me.  When I first saw the Unlimited Abundance Program with Christie Marie Sheldon come through, I was pretty skeptical.  I thought it was too much money and I didn't trust that it would really help me.  I've bought several self-help books and programs in the past and well, most of them didn't work.  So, yes, I was quite skeptical.

Relax To Massage Music Video on YouTube

Has it been a stressful week?

Well then if it has, take a moment and relax to this massage music video.

I put my beautiful and relaxing music to some pictures from the South Florida and Miami area.

It isn't a long video, but it gives you a brief moment to just stop and relax.  In fact, it is one of my all time most popular videos I have put up on YouTube with nearly 100,000 views.

So, go ahead and take a moment to just relax.

You deserve it.

Take A Step

As we step forward, our view changes.

This is true and yet, it can be frightening at the same time.

Of course, as you take one step after another, you don't see quite the same view as if you look back and see from where you came.
