For those who struggle, it is a nightmare.  For those who have had their lives torn apart because a loved one committed suicide, the pain continues.  The questions continue.  Suicide of a loved one often destroys the lives of those left behind.

A Worthless Apology

These days in our society, we say anything and do anything, then our public relations firms convince their clients that they must apologize.  They apologize in some half-hearted attempt, making it look like they are sincere and acting as if they did nothing wrong.  You can't get much better than that in our society if you are attempting to become less than human.

I grew up in a house where major crap was done all the time.  I saw my mom beat for just about anything she did.  I was beat for anything and everything.  I was molested by multiple people.  You name it, I saw it.

The only thing is that time and time again, these same offending lowlifes in my family apologized for what they did.  The statement "I apologize - I never meant to hurt you" was uttered constantly.  It was meaningless words meant to sound like they were sincere.  They were sincere until the next moment where you were beat or molested.

To Be Loved On Valentines Day

On this day when everyone is stressing out about the plans they need to make, or the flowers they feel they must buy or the gifts they must give, can we stop and think about this in a different way.  Sure Valentines day is made for lovers and commercial business has made sure it is very well celebrated day.  However, I think we could argue that Valentines Day should be year around, and not just one moment of the year.

I'd like to take us further though on what Valentines Day is.  I think we could all agree that it is about love.  The more love you have in your heart, the more you wholeheartedly want to give it away to everyone you meet and to the universe around you including the earth and animals.  The unique part of love is that the more you give away, the more you will receive.

Love though, encompasses so much more than something between lovers.  Love is something that each one of us needs to practice with our self.  If we do not love our self, we have very little capacity to love one another.  Only by first loving our self, can we find the love within us to give away to all those we meet.  Without finding the love inside, we keep it locked away in a dark cave.

What Does It Mean To Take Responsibility For Your Actions?

This morning, one of my twitter followers posted this question.  I thought it was interesting because I have struggled with this at times in my own life. To state a little more, Frank Fine said most clients struggle with this even though they tell you they are doing just that.

Frank Fine ‏@frankfine asked, "What does it mean to you to take responsibility for your own actions?"

My initial response was simple or as simple as you can state in a tweet of limited characters.

@frankfine Realizing that my choices create my outcome and I chose my actions/behaviors/thoughts whether they are healthy or not healthy.

While I thought I had explained what I meant clearly, I soon found out there were gaping holes in my explanation.  Another twitter follower pointed this out and when they did, they made me really stop and think about what I had said.  Here is what they tweeted.
